Great addition could be BM related stuff. But at the same time that would almost require a whole another part

Hey Stickupkid,

Really waiting for the next update to this guide.

It's been 2-3 months since the last update.

You still working on this?

Thanks for writing this guide.

Nice post. Thanks. I've tried to get some newbie answers on similar threads without any luck, i hope someone here answers. I'm new to this forum, so i hope someone responds to my questions, thank's. Just another newbie question, when you say "duplicate adset" do you mean adset or ad within the adset that is profitable, because i have 3 ads per adset and some profitable some not? Also i have 3 adsets with 3 ads each, and the budget for each adset is 5$, and for each ad is 5$, so it might be a stupid question, but i have a feeling it only spends adset budget. Is there a difference? Thanks

10-30-2018 02:06 PM #20 stickupkid (Senior Moderator)

I always duplicate on campaign level, not ad set level. I like to expose my new ads on a new selected audience pool. You can duplicate ad sets within a campaign yes, most likely you will have overlap quickly PLUS your CTR might not be that high since people already "seen" the ads before probably. Besides that it can screw up good working ads if you mess within a campaign.

At the end it's just testing, since it also has to do with a lot of other things (timing, budget, competition etc).

The budget spreads on the ads within the ad set, so there you don't put 5 dollar on an ad, you put 5 dollar of all three ads and FB divides what's "best".

Ok thanks for the quick response, however i have one very profitable ad and one promising from different adsets. Also i have fairly broad audience 27M. Could i mess the algo if i just duplicate the ad 3 times with 2X budget? Or if i duplicate at campaign level should i kill all unprofitable ads individually.

I suggest to copy the winning stuff outside your current campaigns, so new campaigns and kill the bad ones yes. But maybe these bad ones turn into good ones with the duplicated campaigns, you never know!

Last weeks I have been into pixels fulltime. And these last weeks made me realize again why I have never touched this before, what a hell for somenone who has no experience with this at all :-D.
But this path is needed to write something worthy for you guys. Ofcourse there is enough written about pixels, so their is no lack of info. Just want to see if I can write something with a "stickupkid" sauce over it.

Apologies for the delays!

That's really glad to hear @stickupkid!!! I have looking for FB pixel info for days...

As I really wanted to know what's a proper way to feed the conversion information (from Affiliate network platform) back to FB, so that we can optimise FB traffic based on this conversion data... (not sure if it is possible without 3rd party tracker such as Voluum).

Anyway, I really looking forward to your 'Pixel' guide!

what kind of offers do you typically run on fb? I see you do sweeps. ever do lead gen like auto financing or anything?

Sweeps that's correct, mostly pin/ivr/lead gen! I did finance/funeral campaigns in the past, still very do-able and less tricky!

you don't use a third party tracker at all with facebook?

Lol. It’s more I started with the stuff what’s top of mind/my kinda specialties. Good lesson to start with the hard parts first so the burden to proceed would be less heavy.

I am lucky because I can adjust 2018/2019 into 2019/2020 in the titles, since all written stuff is still very relevant lol. Bear with me, I will finish it

No rush!

I figure the intro (which is already a goldmine) plus this post are plenty for anyone who wants to get started (and has some AM experience elsewhere).
