is it too late to start in the world of AM in 2021?
Hi all,
Apologies in advance for the somewhat naive question but I am wondering whether 2021 is too late to start in AM? Logic with suggest that as long as the internet is around and people buy products online that it will remain but I want to get some advice from the more experienced professionals on this website?
Thanks!

It´s never too late.
Really, that question pops up every year again since I started AM in 2005.
It´s true that the landscape changes all the time.
Some things that worked very good suddenly stop working, on the other hand there are new opportunities all the time.
Logic with suggest that as long as the internet is around and people buy products online that it will remain
Exactly, the online advertising market only gets bigger.
Maybe it´s not as easy anymore as it was during the "pops + 1click bonanza" but with all the technical improvements and stuff it´s definitely possible to start in 2021.
It´s mostly not about "is it possible or not", it´s rather about if you are willing to put that time, energy, money and work in it that´s needed to get it running

Just to provide more confidence and motivation - off the top of my head, below are a few currently-running follow-along threads where the poster is finding success (or beginning to).
@jaybot who's been consistently profitable for quite a while now - still updating what's probably the longest-running follow-along in the history of STM:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ead-Guaranteed!
@ranrev who's been with us less than 4 months, recently reached the $100/day in profits milestone:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post411162
@roiter123 who's been running profitably for the last 3 months:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post410708
Then there are a lot of affiliates making great money that are lurking on the forum or are not STM members.
Days of easy money are gone, but affiliates are definitely still succeeding!

You definitely can succeed, but as always you have to work hard to move forward by your own mistakes.
I see dozens of affiliates who had to start their way just recently on affiliate marketing.
They got first profit and feel more confident. I recommend you to start with evergreen niches, such as Dating or Nutra.
Be passionate about what are you doing and you will win!

Thanks for your input!
To offer an alternative point of view: Dating and Nutra may not be the best verticals to start with for newbies. Of course these are both huge verticals that can be extremely lucrative, but many dating offers have quality requirements, and many nutra offers tend to have payouts on the higher side which would require bigger test budgets to collect data and optimize campaigns.

We should do an "is it too late to start AM" index with all the threads about that since the beginning of the forum :-)

Here are just a few:

There must be lots other. Point I'm trying to make is that people have been asking similar questions for years now and AM is still alive and well. Like @

Man... not only do I think its not too late, I think its practically an imperative to do it nowadays...
There's a semi-famous tech guy/author I've been following named Balaji Srinivasan, and he says that because of the rise of crypto and robotics and decentralization, that within a few decades virtually everyone's income will be derived online, and that making money online and managing investments online will be to people in the 21st century as farming was to people in the 19th century.
But yeah, for AM specifically, I think the industry is poised to absolutely explode.
Here's a video from one of the founders of GiddyUp on the question:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G1jLRBi0Ms
Also- judging from your screen name- I would think you could make absolute bank as a lawyer specializing in digital marketing eventually too, as someone who would have both the legal knowledge and degree AND firsthand experience 'in the trenches' so to speak, so yeah, I could not urge you strongly enough to dive into AM

Thank you for your kind words and motivating post!
I am finding it difficult to get approved with the more popular and leading networks. Obviously, being a noob and lacking a proven track record is what holds me back but hoping like law, I can get in through a referral or good word from fellow AM. Do you happen to have any pull with networks?
Apologies for being brazen enough to ask without actually knowing one another but if I don't try I will never know! Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you mate.

As I already posted in your other thread, try to send the networks a PM here on STM when they have an account here.
That often helped to opent he doors for our members already.
