any email platform that accepts imported lists?

Hi,

I have a few thousand targeted emails a friend has from her last job in an excel file. I want to import them somewhere and email to them.

Looking for a platform that allows this?

Aweber for instance sends a message to make them opt in when you import a list. Don't want that.

Thanks.

I host my own using Interspire Email Marketer. Great software, good support. You can import whatever you like, no messing around with double optins, re-optins etc. It's also easy to build interfaces for coreg or whatever using their xml api. Might be a bit expensive though, if it's only for a one-off job emailing a few thousand.

I'd never go back to a third party solution, too many problems, and your data is not under your control.

How do you keep inboxing with that setup? Do you rent certain smtp servers for sending or have relationships with the usual blacklists?

SMTP.com - they have a deal with Interspire, it's cheap for what it does. As long as you're running a clean operation there are no issues (i.e. keep it compliant, unsubscribe link in every email).

i think icontact allows you to import without having to do a new optin

Be careful with all standard mailers.

Aweber
Mailchimp
Icontact
Getresponse

Google the names + affiliate marketing or account closed and you will see what I mean

critsend.com is dirt cheap....

sendgrid can work too...

also vertical response allows import but they have pretty strong filers in place and block alot of valid emails....
