Hello Everybody,
I'm Affligem Brown and I'm from the Netherlands.
After realising that there's no such thing as THE perfect moment to start a follow along, I've decided to get out of my comfy zone
and share the highs and lows (mostly lows at the moment in my (Push) affiliate marketing journey.
What a treasure chest this forum is. I've learned a sh*t ton reading other people's follow alongs/ threads and I thank you all for that.
What else do I hope to get out of this? 3 things: accountability, learning and sharpening my thinking as well (it just makes me think more clearer about problems when I put it down).
Cause I'm a person that generally puts alot of pressure on himself in terms of performance, I've chosen to frame my goals
in terms of daily spending instead of earnings (no extra pressure needed). These two threads were very helpfull to me (shoutout to @Vortex and @Ivan the terrible)
to actually starting a follow along.
My past experience is in sales (on the phone, practicing my ABC's*) and more recently in building a small niche website. The latter is how I intend to fund my
journey cause I will be doing this full-time.
This is how my current setup looks like:
BUDGET
Ad spend:
$1000 per month (incl. transaction costs for topping up traffic source accounts) and more in case I need to scale.
Learning:
$99 STM forum membership
Tracker:
$149
Spytool/ Landing pages:
$129 Adplexity push (+ @stm)
Hosting:
$0 Amazon AWS + Cloudfront
Translations:
$25 ($5 a pop and assuming I'll be needing at least 5)
TRAFFIC SOURCE
Propellerads (Push)
AFFILIATE NETWORKS
Clickdealer
Gotzha
Advidi
VERTICALS
Sweepstakes
Mobile content
Allrighty! That's it for now. Later today I'll be posting some of my results and what I will be working on this weekend.
Looking forward to getting to know people in this community & would love to hear your advice.
Thanks again ☺️

Oke let’s go:

Quick update:
Yesterday I launched 7 campaigns i.o. to split test 29 offers across 7 different geos (Tier 3).
I used the @twinaxe method for calculating maximum budgets for each campaign (average payout x number of landers x number of offers x 10) and selected the offers that converted quickly (in most cases before the entire budget was spend).
Here are some early results of my quick-n-dirty offers split tests (btw I’m using only propellerads at the moment):
When you drill down a bit, you’ll get these numbers:
Campaign 1
Offers 1 and 2 (pin submits & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

I just picked the offer with the most conversions (offer 1) for further testing and paused offer number 2. How would you’ve decided to proceed? Would you let it run for longer? Or...
Campaign 2:
Offers 3, 4, 5 and 6 (pin submits, sms billing & 1click downloads)/ win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

Same scenario, so the same decision (the first offer, which is offer 3).
Now it gets (a bit
more interesting...
Campaign 3:
Offers 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11(pin submits & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity (targeting)

Here I picked the top offers (offer 7). Why? Cause it had the most conversions and ~60% roi (somehow feel that I can make that work). What is your cutoff point? Or if you do it differently: how would you make that decision?
Furthermore, Would you’ve picked 1 (winner) this early/ let it run longer and why? → I’m asking this cause there’s only 1 conversion difference between offer 7 and 8.
Campaign 4:
Offers 12, 13 and 14 (pin submits & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

Picked the offer with 4 conversions.
Campaign 5:
Offers 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 (pin submits, 1click downloads & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

Campaign 6:
Offers 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 (pin submits, 1click downloads & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

&
Campaign 7:
Offers 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 (1click downloads & sms billing) / win iPhone 11 / Tier 3 / High activity

Picked in all 3 cases the offer with 3 conversions and cut the rest.
A couple of questions:
1. Lets say you've calculated a total budget of $60 dollars, how do you spend that money wisely? Meaning, how do you decide on a daily budget?
Do you set the default daily minimum of $10, the entire calculated budget (in this case $60), any other method?
2. When it's a neck and neck race between offers/ landers/ whatever, how do you budget camps that need to run till statistical significance?
If there's no way to calculate this, how do you manage this (cashflow wise)?
3. How do you choose your initial bid on this particular traffic source (Propellerads push)? In my case I use the traffic estimator to determine how much I need to bid to get at least 50% of the conversions. Sometimes that means I'm bidding lower than recommended. Other times the same or even higher.
Looking forward to your opinions, tips, advices, answers, or any other feedback
Cheers,
