My 2nd campaign on PPV Follow Along This One WILL WORK!

Okay since the first one had some unsuspected results I can't let it knock me out of the game forever! This time im going to attack credit reports on PPV:

Angle: Getting A Loan From Credit Unions
Targets: Credit Union Sites
LP: link removed
Traffic Source: Lead Impact
Budget: 50 a day

Feel free to post suggestions or stay along for the ride

first off your lp link doesn't work...

i have no clue on credit reports but $50 budget won't get you far, just my 12c.

if you're short i'd suggest some $3-$6 lead gen or whatever offers.

05-24-2011 10:37 PM #3 jroes57 (Member)

I can increase the budget if need to, and I fixed the link, what do you recommend for a budget?

05-24-2011 11:17 PM #4 sntr (Member)

as i told i have no clue on credit reports, either i have no clue your angel or targeting is right, but i'd split a lander that is whole white background, <hr> seperator after the heading, then the bullets, then CTA, then Freescore has partnered blah yada, then CTA again. i'd make the CTA blinking or animated with >>> signs or something like that. after the second CTA i'd put a sort of testimonials or something that makes it look legit, and grey font but visible disclaimer.

right now i kinda have a feeling your CTA is beyond the fold and it doesn't stand out.

edit: for a budget well.. i have no clue how much you're getting paid for the lead, i'm guessing ~$10, so $200-$300 for testing would be better than $50, unless your initial targeting is really tight. i mean if you're targeting against 2-3 targets/keywords then $50 should be fine for a day, just let it run and get some data.

Havent gotten around to the testimonials yet
but hows this looking:

Thanks for the tips

hmm hmm CTA "Get your score" and split "Continue >>>"

make <hr> visible

headline in different color, green, blue? maybe red..

IMO worth a split test, good job.

I've noticed a few spelling mistakes,on your second headline you have mispelt score and down the bottom it says trail >>trial

05-25-2011 01:02 AM #8 briansloan (Member)

Would you consider making the headline dynamic?

Special Notice For {keyword} Customers

Also the head title is blank - should be same as headline perhaps

05-25-2011 01:10 AM #9 jroes57 (Member)

Yea Ill throw in dynamic keyword insertion,
does anyone know the script to just put in the root domain?

05-25-2011 01:10 AM #10 Mr Green (Administrator)

I whipped this one up for you. Try throwing this is the testing mix.

05-25-2011 01:22 AM #11 jroes57 (Member)

Okay ill try that, just gotta convert it :P

05-25-2011 02:53 AM #12 jroes57 (Member)

Testing out Mr Greens page out first!

It's using dynamic keyword insertion

05-25-2011 03:16 AM #13 Mugga (Member)

do you guys usually use an image for your PPV landing pages or you use regular html pages?

05-25-2011 03:17 AM #14 jroes57 (Member)

The top part of mine is html, ill use an all image if im not doing dynamic keyword insertion

I run credit reports on TV and spent well over 1k to make about $500 back, so outch on that. I tried about 15 different landers and text-only definately gave me the best CTR (between 2.7%-3.7%). I also used a countdown to urge the visitor in relation with an audio file. Let me know if you're interested in the audio and good luck.

What kind of targets were you bidding on?
Whose Credit Report Offer did u use?

I've had better results with HTML pages. Maybe because it looks and feels more "real" ? Or maybe because they load faster/better?

05-25-2011 10:11 PM #20 jroes57 (Member)

Okay so apparently theres more rules:
Cant say report
Cant say free score has partnered up with so so

So gotta rework my pages

For faster loading of images try:
* Save all images as GIF's ( and the lowest quality GIF as possible)
* Slice your LP in Photoshop/Gimp and host the images on a CDN like Amazon S3

For audio go to fivver and pay for an Call to Attention. Host this as well on your CDN. There are all types of open source players you can use on the LP.

I already do all that stuff, but thanks

Anyways, HTML pages always split test better for me. I think its because they load faster personally and look less awkward. On my computer for example, I can always tell if a lander is an image by the way it sorta 'flickers' when it loads

From my experience with credit reports it isn't a wise move to use audio.

It works with games , dating mobile because these are offers that appeal to a younger demographic.

It might increase LP ctr but will make your page look much less genuine and you will have a lower conversion rate.

People aren't used seeing credit reports sites having audio and animated arrows.

They will think it's some kind of scam.

The way I've had most success with credit reports is to use these three things :

1 - Make it authoritative. Use professional buttons and images ( the yellow button mr green posted will do the job ).
2 - Use bullet points to state the benefits.
3 - Make it sound limited and that the free offer is going to end tomorrow. To make it even more exclusive you can say it's limited only to site's visitors or residents in their city.
4 - Build trust by using logos like "Hacker Safe" , "McAffe Secure" , pics of locks etc.

Give this a try and let me know how it performs. We can make additional changes from there

New rule being passed around:
Not allowed to use dynamic keyword insertion

Impersonates you being the bank and these terms are trademarked

05-27-2011 09:12 AM #25 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Where are you running this?

On LI you wont get any traffic at all by bidding on the most important bank names.

They disabled it because too many people running lps that looked like notices from the bank itself.

05-27-2011 06:51 PM #26 jroes57 (Member)

Im running on LI

06-01-2011 04:02 PM #27 jroes57 (Member)

So far this lp has a ctr of around 2%
and is right around break even.
Testing 5k targets

You have two typos in the first line .

Free Score 360 has partnered up with (keyword) to provide you with a 3 day free trail to access your Credit Score and Report. Offer is only valid fo todays date.

Nice work Jroes57, if you are about breaking even you are almost there! Keep split testing the page and removing the junk urls, and you should have a winner soon
