Since a couple weeks ago I was dealing only with PPV traffic but lately I wanted to get my feet wet with Facebook.
I launched a couple campaigns and while 2 were profitable , I still can't track correctly the ROI on each individual ad unless I start copy pasting everything in excel.
However this would take too much time since I generally have 30+ ads per campaign.
How do you deal with it ?
I was thinking of hacking p202's code in order to be able to import facebook reports. However for this to work ad names should be passed as t202 keywords and should match with the names of the ads on facebook.
To do this error free the best solution would be using Spydr's uploader to automate ad naming.
What's your take on this?
If there is enough interest I will release the p202 modification to the forums too.
I just pass a keyword which acts just like a subid.
t202kw=campaignnamead1
t202kw=campaignnamead2
t202kw=campaignnamead3
and as Im sure you know, with Prosper, you won't ever be able to track ROI correctly since you give it an arbitrary click cost
That's what I'm talking about , uploading reports from facebook to get the right click costs for each ad.
I have smth similar for PPV and I think it can work with FB too.
The PPV version will be given to all forum members after the merge.
For the FB one maybe you will wait a couple days more
hey bbrock, you got any other P202 mods laying around?
Interested in seeing some of the things people have added
anything for cpvlab ?
For the FB one maybe you will wait a couple days more --- AWESOME
bbbbbbrock, any luck on the hacking, that feature would be immense, suprised it hasnt been implemented already
It's looking pretty good so far. Will be ready in a couple weeks.
Awesome, i think you should sell it them
Nah , will make it free and exclusive for STM members only.
Btw , if you have any suggestions feel free to post here.
Will do of course pal!
Mmmm.... this could make me switch away from using CPV Lab for tracking.
Out of interest bbrock, what with you being a heavy PPV user, how come you don't use CPVLab, but use p202 instead?
I use cpvlab too for certain campaigns ( ie collecting emails ) but there are a couple things that make me use P202 most of the time
1) In CPVLab you can't upload cost data for any period you want. You can choose between today , this week and all time but there is no option to upload reports for any custom period you want.
2 ) I use p202 in combo with my own rotator ( which I am going to share here too ) which can also cloak in base of the ip , country etc . If I used my rotator with CPVLAB my links would have to go through 3 redirects in a row which would slow things down.
3) CPVLab can't group data based on the c1-c4 variables. This is a must have for me since I split test landing page elements using these 4 variables.
4) CPVLab doesn't record every click so I can't analyze ips and filter out affiliates that snoop on my landing pages
5) CPVLab doesn't support leads with different payout value. I run a certain coreg path that every lead has a different payout. Without this I wouldn't know what is making me money and what not.
6) P202 is open source and very well coded so I can hack it quite easily if I need smth that isn't there out of the box.
Anyway I'm not saying P202 is better . I use it with custom hacks to do some advanced stuff . For most people CPVLab is much easier to work with "out of box".
lol @ #4. How do you know who the affiliates are?
By running a few sql queries I can sort ips that have been on all my landers.
Naturally the chances of a legit visitor being on all of my landers ( in different niches ) are slim to none.
Combining this with a couple more filters ( checking country , browser etc ) you can easily spot affiliates.
There are quite a few tricks you can use to filter fake visitors
that sounds to technical for me
Any update on this mod? Drives me nutz having to copy and paste my stats from FB and P202 to excel to get one-stop performance metrics and ROI. Thx!
Yep , you can get it here :

It's still in beta but has been working like a charm for me.
Let me know if you need help installing / configuring it.
