TRUE.COM + MyWOT = ?
Hey guys,
When a site like true.com gets an all red mywot.com rating, is it still possible to promote the offer via FB or is it dead cold?
Have anyone tried any methods at all that works?
Ryan

you can try...and it might get thru.....but what I have found its not worth the hassle.....as it will prob just get retro'ed anyways

So even with landing pages and everything it will still be non-compliant? i.e. pointless?

Yes, you will need to send them to a clean offer and then switch True.com in after it has been approved. If they recheck for whatever reason and see the switched link you will get retro-disapproved, and eventually banned for doing it. Safest bet is to run to a clean offer then switch afterwards and add cloaking to redirect if they recheck. It will never last though.
Also, you need to give the site name in the advert so you will eventually get pinged for the ad leading to true.com but saying something other than true.com in the ad copy. Unless you sneak through some dating ads with no site name on them, good luck on that one.

Bleh. That's all I need to know -- That true.com is officially dead in FB. Just don't feel like giving up if SOMEONE else is running it, however he/ she did it

Eh? But I will still have to put true on my adcopy and they will click through to my LP to find that it's True, then disapprove right?

How the hell does True.com go red on MWOT? Jesus that's such a retarded system. Thanks for implementing that, Facebook. I love you too.

They are the red-est of all dating websites too.

They're doing it to most of the dating sites, it's possible to do it specific affiliate links too. If you have some cash to spend you could probably get a generous review. It's sort of like that thing that happened with digg where they were paying power users to game the top spots of the system.

It's a really stupid system. Reviews go like "contents aren't suitable for minors..."
Like come on! wake up! It's a freaking dating site. It's like saying a restaurant is a bad business because it does not have a beach and should be shut down...
A dating site isn't for minors.

WOT is being 'gamed'
I even ran across a bot that makes + or - comments in WOT.
here is the best way to combat it.
contact sites like ALEXA and others top tier sites IE top alexa quantcast 10K and let them know "I cant go to your site since WOT says its bad and evil. so im going to your competitor that is nice and good" and send them the link and pic of you signing on to their competition.
I just did that with Alexa and got an email back and they are NOT happy

Whenever I have created ads going via a landing page I always had clicks to the offer coming from FB during the approval process. It looked like it was 1 per reviewer or therabouts, as the number of clicks was in the ballpark of how many approval emails I received.
I had to put in normal links and not aff links or it really messed with tracking, same with my conversion beacons with my API, through off conversion stats as I'd have an initial spike of hundreds of lander clicks and dozens of clicks to the offer.

that's funny I have seen just the opposite....i have seen very few if any clicks other than the initial hit they make when they scrape the site/lp (comes in as a linux box with a Mozilla agent)...in almost all cases i see only one hit upon first review....

Maybe it's because I'm using an API so all my ads get created simultaneously? Whereas if you are doing it manually perhaps your first ad causes your later ads to go to the same reviewer.
That or maybe it's more scrutiny toward newer advertising accounts.

/pass. All I can say is that's what my tracking has indicated in the past, will test more thoroughly when I start some new campaigns with landers. Thats right - I remember one campaign where I had VWO tracking the lander and it measured tonnes of clickthroughs as well, hmmm.
Will let the data from the future decide.

Try a few more? See if it's a fluke case or are they finally allowing it again?

drove 120mph on the hiway the other day and I didn't get a speeding ticket....
point is both are against the rules.....
can you get sites in the red on FB?....sure sometimes things get thru....sometimes the company takes steps to get back on FB.....sometimes the reviewer was just being lazy or is new
point is though anytime you start playing with sites in the red on FB....please understand that you may loose your account over this.....its pretty clearly documented....the forum is littered with stories about account loss
weigh the risks....plan accordingly....
