Does Popads.net have a postback URL??
Can somebody lend a hand by briefly explaining where I can find the postback URL in Popads, so I can add this traffic source to Voluum? I don't get it...
Thank You
Gene

pretty sure popads doesn't support postbacks. you can check some postback examples for some traffic sources in the future to see if they exist here:

Gene what is it that you're wanting to happen? Are you trying to get
Voluum to track popads costs? Please elaborate thanks.

Does Popads.net have a postback URL??
Thanks For chiming in Amy...
I was trying wrap my head around popads.net
I got spoiled with go2mobi and assumed sites like popads would track conversions etc...
After more due diligence I think I have everything setup and tracking in Voluum and now I understand why a tracker is so critical since popads.net doesn't track like go2mobi or similar DSP's...
This is my first campaign outside of go2mobi, so it through me for a loop.
My big takeaway is that there is no postback url for tracking with popads.net. everything is passed through the campaign URL via tokens.
The affiliate network will detect conversions and pass that information along to the tracker {clickid}, combine that with a campaign URL adjusted for traffic source tokens, then all data needed for optimization will be collected by the tracker..
Does this sound right or am I misunderstanding? I don't want to mislead fellow newbies...
thanks again for chiming in...

Call me paranoid if you want, but I never pass conversion data to the traffic network, never... I simply feel better when any party along the funnel, has access to as limited info as possible

I don't even know which traffic sources offer that functionality to be honest

The tracker will do all this for me and it works exactly as you wrote, affiliate network will use the postback to let your tracker know what click (clickid) made the conversion and the tracker will pair it with all the collected data, so what banner, url/spot etc... the click originated from.

Yup gene what you said all sounds about right! Like matuloo I don't like to pass conversion info (or any other unnecessary info) back to the traffic source. Call it heresay, but I know of people working at traffic sources that would reverse engineer entire campaigns that are performing well. It's never possible to completely prevent that from happening, but let's not make it too easy if we don't have to.

Very good point, I hadn't even considered the implication of passing back the valuable conversion data to the traffic source. Thanks.

Good logic unless
Voluum decides to automate the business and do their own stuff.

They have the data from hundreds of marketers. Millions and millions of conversions.
They have good relationships with the advertisers.
And soon they will have their own network:

I'd say if you don't trust the advertiser, do not send them any traffic at all. Sure hiding conversion sources is nice but you cannot rely on it 100%.
