nice numbers....

I think people get all caught up doing too many sites at once there.....then walk away saying it doesn't work......

best success I have had has been to just focus on one site and get it working.....and it doesn't even need to be a huge site......had good success on sites that range in the 200-500k imps a day.....

An ROI of 668.5%. Very impressive... Want to share some tricks?

Nice numbers. Motivates me to get back into my account and test some more.

Would love to see a case study on SS of a live campaign.

My trick I've found is to test with small budgets, the cost of a lead maybe 2x teh cost of a lead, upload a good number of banners and improve, that campaign there i had 10 banners and removed all teh low ctr ones, if they had a low ctr but high conversions I kept them. test test test

^^^this.....

I have done over 75+ creatives on some sites....

site scout allows you to just upload a zip file......it makes launching shit like that very easy.....

advertised on a placement that doesn't allow that vertical anymore lasted for one day, been kicking myself since lol

My experience with sitescout is shite, 300 lids down the swanny

09-18-2011 05:49 PM #18 shoent (Member)

looks like its a skin offer, 30 cpa?

09-18-2011 06:02 PM #19 dantheman (Member)

That's what blows about using sitescout. They have all these restrictions on websites. If they didn't there would be more golden nuggets there. Im thinking if going direct to the site and telling the owner that you have a large budget and not tell what you are promoting will work.

09-18-2011 06:50 PM #20 polarbacon (Moderator)

Ya its got tougher recently.....its not sitescout per se....its just some of the networks/sites they work with have dumb ass restrictions......I will say that I have contacted 1 or 2 sites directly out side of site scout....and what can/can't be done is def different.....it can be worth it to pursue this if you have something thats almost there but you want/need more direct approval......also going direct can get you some other advantages cuz all your buying on sitescout is remnant inventory.....the site it self can really help to nail down a page/placement that site scout can never do......

I know SiteScout is not to blame for blocking certain verticals but what sucks is that you can advertise virtually all the blocked verticals through AdWords on most of those sites.

Maybe they feel more confident in the type of content that Google will serve...

ya i'm sure thats the main reason why....there is a certain trust in google....I have contacted a few websites directly and they have said "go buy thru google" which I thought was kinda funny because they didn't even want to nego a deal.....even though I could have offered more than adsense was making them.....

people like easy....google is easy....

its on a site by site basis....

you can see whats allowed if you click "pub details"

09-20-2011 06:24 PM #25 alpha matt (Member)

Just found that out myself, hehe

09-20-2011 07:13 PM #26 clicktrack (Member)

Was this a farticle or flog? Nice work. I would be pounding down their door to let you run your ad and offer them a much higher rate. If you won't PM me and I will and give you a fair cut.

After you stop running this campaign I would like to see it as a case study. Just curious what type of ad/lp/offer can bring in that much ROI and net profit in a day. I know many of them do but still looking for mine.

09-28-2011 01:58 AM #33 theguvna ()

So who picks up on it you figure? Sitescout, or the pub?

09-28-2011 02:05 AM #34 clicktrack (Member)

I would imagine the pub as sitescout could care less. They get their cut if an ad is sold.

09-28-2011 02:07 AM #35 theguvna ()

Wonder if it's possible to sniff the pub reviewers. There are bigger brains on this board that could figure it out. Possibly just a geo-cloak for one city. I thought someone had done that on Adsonar before.

09-28-2011 02:26 AM #36 deondup (Member)

SiteScout is only the "middleman". They can get blacklisted if you cloak and in the process you will screw them.

...and all too familiar pattern. Eventually they will be forced to ban affiliates.

THIS... Cloaking is stupid. There are better ways to make money.
