Which Industry Idol Would Want To Talk To 1 on 1?

Within the Marketing industry, who would you most want to have a chat with?

Please let me know!

The Fastlane Millionaire book author MJ DeMarco (if he qualifies for marketing industry).

08-03-2011 11:25 PM #3 peetu (Member)

The list for "who in the industry would you like to punch into the face" would be longer...

Anyhow, i would like to ask Matt Cutts if he believes the stuff himself what he is telling on the video casts.

I second MJ Demarco, I'm on his forums and have read his book. His story is just amazing.

Drew Eric Whitman fo sho! Ca$hvertising has been the best info i've read so far on the topic of rapidly tapping into consumer psychology (tho i had to read it 2-3 times before any of the info really started to sink into my caveman brain). I try to make a point of reading that book at least once every few months, and every time i gain brand new insight from the same old words i've already read. Fantastic book.

I'm reading it as well at the moment, so my vote goes to him. I haven't been deep enough in the IM scene for long enough to really even know much about the others, except for Shoemoney.

My vote goes to Drew Eric Whitman.

^ I bet it's shoemoney.
Too busy making a name for yourself to be focusing on other names, right?

Tell me what you don't like about him that i don't know? Enlighten me
I recently found out about him thru a recommendation. He is doing awsome numbers and has done so for years. He owned ECM but i haven't much read what happened to ECM. He drinks on his webinars n stuff, seems cool guy but i might be wrong as well

08-12-2011 10:28 PM #25 z6marketing (Member)

I would never use "he drinks on his webinars" as a qualifier for someone being worth listening to. Just sayin'.

Lol yea of course (never seen anything like this), but his numbers are huge and this is why he is worth listening to. He can scale massively and is called Mr $50K a day.

08-12-2011 11:08 PM #27 z6marketing (Member)

Can't help but wonder if he gave himself that nickname.

I'm not interested in arguing though, and you're entitled to your opinion.

I voted for Drew Eric Whittman and Tim Ferris. I learned a lot from those two.

Because I don't think we need to interview anyone that calls themselves "Super Affiliate Rockstar" and pauses for "Patron breaks". Don't get caught up into what these guys pitch on the side. I can smell a guru from a mile away and that's exactly what we don't need.

Yes, he's a knowledgeable guy in affiliate marketing but with Drew Eric Whitman, Tim Ferris, and others on the list, why request an interview with a now defunct network co-owner?

08-13-2011 04:54 AM #29 phoenix (Member)

a better question is...

Are any of his students on here ?

If, so what success have they had and how much to the attribute to his training and materials ?

Gaugher gave me a bump up in knowledge 3yrs ago and Greg WAS/IS one of his students, but times have changed and so have the people in the industry.

I wont defend or persecute. I will ask questions

Lucrumnet

I mean, Greg is a smart dude but having an interview with Godin or Ferris would be amazing even if it's outside of affiliate stuff.

08-14-2011 03:19 AM #31 illya (Member)

Another vote for Drew Eric Whitman. Ca$hvertising distills the monster subject of writing copy down into a incredibly valuable reference book. Seth would certaining be entertaining, but I can follow Drew's logic better.

Ferris or DeMarco.

Ferris would probably be most interesting for his knowledge outside of marketing. MJ would be interesting in regards to marketing, since he made his money in lead gen, then later sold the company.

Demarko has some great ideas but he made his money during the internet boom at a time when anyone who knew how to use adwords could be a millionaire in a year.

No disrespect at all, but it would be much harder for him to reach that level of success as easily today. JMO

I'd probably vote for Dan Kennedy or Eben Pagen myself...

Probably Guy, for his real estate investing knowledge. I'm looking to move some serious monies into REI in 2012.

Ryan Eagle or Justin Dupre...

Both are incredible affiliate marketing legends (or trap stars if you will) who could share some priceless affiliate vice. I've had the pleasure of talking to Ryan Eagle for a split second and he revealed that yahoo answers is actually a viable traffic source.
