Some interesting targeting options with FB category targeting

not sure if this is news but I thought it was interesting. I was just checking out the "category" targeting and you can target people that have children for a certain amount of years with some other cool stuff as well such as newly weds etc.

That does look really neat. Can you click 'child 0-3', with all females in the US, and let me know the reach?

When you create an ad it's in the 'Interests' section...

Is this available to everyone?

I just found it today and built a daily deal campaign using one of the catergories, seems pretty sweet but I read its just being tested on some accounts

I think I'm thinking what you're thinking

The only problem is that AdSage doesn't have this built into their program which sucks. So I'll have to manually create ads when using it.

@driv - i don't have that option in my account.Maybe is just avaible for people who spend more money.

@lifepow
It's not on all accounts yet. It's random, they've been adding it to more and more accounts over the last month.

@ubershawn
You probably are, this opened up quite a few ideas!

Hmm... maybe so. I thought it was rolled out to everyone w/ the new FB ads interface. I have 4 FB accts currently (none over a $500/day spend limit) and all of 'em have this option. What's your daily spend limit? More than the 'starting' $50/day?
Maybe somebody else here has some insight as to how this option is added?

Edit: Stackman answered the question just above!

More importantly, can you switch back to KW targeting once you're done using the category method....or do they fool you into switching for good like they did with their new cruddy interface?

For me I have both, but you can't use both at the same time. You can either use category or specific keyword targetting. Not sure what the long term options will be...
