A $200/Day Direct Linking Campaign Revealed

Hey guys and girls , time for a new case study.

This is a campaign I ran till 2 weeks ago and made me some nice change.

It's a direct linking campaign and took me at maximum 20 mins to build.

I was promoting a groupon offer that paid $2.75 on email submit.

I started by entering the words "coupons" ,"daily deals" and "groupon" in the related keyword finder tool in Affexpert.

Came up with around 20 keywords which then I fed into the url scraper and scraped only first 10 results from google .

So I ended with 200 urls and the initial 2-3 keywords.

Let them run for a week and I was at -10% ROI , but that was because of a couple urls that were only losing money.

I deleted the non performing keywords ( ones with less than 10% ROI ) and here are the ones that were profitable for me :

coupon
coupons
daily deals
groupon
groupon.com
coupon.com
coupons.com
couponcabin.com
retailmenot.com
livingsocial.com
daily deals

To maximize the profit from these keywords I generated all possible variations by using the Domain Typos tool.

So in the end I was running about 120 keywords.

This campaign was doing 100% ROI and a profit of $200/ day.

After running for 30 days and profiting $6k it was pulled from the network.

However this friday I got an email from my AM saying it's back live at $2.5 / lead.

Instead of running it myself I decided to share it with you .

It will work for a few days until bid prices go crazy.

So instead of trying to run the exact campaign use it to learn the process and come up with your own ideas.

Direct linking works very well with popular/hot offers that get a lot of attention ( hint : as seen on tv offers ) .

Now go launch some campaigns!

P.S Looks like I'm a bit behind with "the thanks" , so if you liked this show me some love by pressing that little green button

So, is it PPV? I have never done PPV before. What network did you run it on?

Great information!

Lol , I wrote it in a hurry so forgot to mention where I was running it.

I ran it the whole time on LeadImpact.

Tried porting to TrafficVance but bid prices were too high to make a profit.

If you can get views for less that 0.02 it will be profitable.

Just wondering what network it is that you ran this with and that has it back for 2.50 since I cant find a single network that has it...

Thanks!

What network had groupon available for PPV?

06-06-2011 04:52 PM #7 bbrock32 (Administrator)

For all the people asking , the network is XY7 elite.

Also I ran this at W4 too the first days.

Hi bbrock32,
Thanks for sharing your campaign.
If you dont mind, can you disclose what cpa network is offering this campaign.

Its my first time in cpa and paid traffic getting methods, so any tips/nuggets will be highly appreciated.

Hey bbrock32, thanks for the info.

A question. A quick search of offervault, ect. shows that most "deal" submits payout in the $1.10- $1.50 range and at those payouts it doesn't seem likely to be profitable.

I checked out XY7 elite and they seem to be only interested in established affiliates.

Are these $2.50 range payouts generally reserved for established, connected affiliates?

06-06-2011 06:12 PM #10 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Well , both W4 and XY7 have it at $2.5 at street payout so it isn't only for established affiliates.

If you can't get approved at XY7 Elite you can get it from W4.

Hmm, It's $1.94 per lead on W4 (Groupon UK) but they can bump it up for you if you can run some traffic to the offer.

06-07-2011 08:26 AM #12 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Hey Nigel , it was for the US not for the UK.

The US is still at $2.5 .

Opps. My bad. Didn't see the US version. I'll talk to my AM and see what's up.

This is GOLD. The whole campaign can easily be ported into tighter niches to maintain a very longterm revenue stream without a lot of competition

06-07-2011 12:04 PM #15 bool (Member)

Would you recommend for people without PPV experience?

06-07-2011 05:17 PM #16 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Yeah definitively!

I think direct linking is the way to start for people without PPV experience.

It's easy to setup and you dont have to build a lp.

BBrock, how much did you spend on testing? Were you culling red URLs during this time or did you let it spend out, then cull?

Interesting campaign, thanks. Just set one up similar to this off the back of this post so will be interesting to see the results.

How did you managed to get it approved on LI , I thought they don`t allow bidding on offer link or any other word that has the words in the offer link

This case groupon.com and groupon keywords ?

06-10-2011 11:06 PM #20 bbrock32 (Administrator)

When I submitted for the first time I had a lot of keywords so they didn't notice them.

The second time when I had fewer keywords and most were typos containing the word groupon I just did a bait and switch.

Im bumping a bunch of old posts today that got a lot of love at the time but that some of you newer members might not have seen. Heres one!

06-28-2012 04:30 AM #23 agent007 (Member)

The trick with these offers is trying to find those that don't scrub too much. Any suggestions on stable PPV offers as I'm setting up LeadImpact campaigns today?

06-29-2012 01:51 PM #24 p3mburu (Member)

great post! taking this into action now!

06-30-2012 09:51 PM #25 p3mburu (Member)

07-06-2012 03:18 AM #26 maynzie (Moderator)
