Are you using CPV Lab for facebook tracking? (10)

Are you using CPV Lab for facebook tracking?

Hey

Im considering using CPV Lab instead of P202 for my Facebook campaigns.
I like the flexibility, landing page sequence, lead capture etc. in CPV Lab. I know P202 does most of it as well, but I really like the interface in CPV Lab.

Is there any pitfalls which I might not be aware of? It could very likely be the case since Im no techie

Thanks!

I dont use CPVLab with Facebook as I dont do any facebook at the moment.

But it should be ok.

if your cpc bidding your ok as long as you set your average cpv per campaign at the right level. with cpm bidding you can still use cpvlab, you just need to keep in mind that profit is not as accurate.

the custom variables option in cpvlab is awesome for facebook advertising as you can use it to splittest - ie have a separate ad variable for each variant of:
* image
* headline
* body

you campaign URL would then be:

http://YourDomain.com/base.php?c=321...02&bodycopy=04

then you can spit out your stats by those variables

The only thing I am not sure about is the link between your destination URL and the display URL. I think on facebook these are 1 and the same and therefore if you use CPVLab it will show up as your destination URL??

Yep, on Facebook there's only 1 URL spot (which is both display and destination). The Facebook ad displays the URL the user ends up at after all redirects and such

Thanks for the PDF. Interesting reading, particularly the bit about using additional tokens so you can really segment your data.

I have a couple ads on facebook that got disapproved because of the link. I'm using cpvlab to track, so could it be because facebook sees "mobile-social-ad-agency.net" as the destination url, instead of the offer page? I'm sure an ad agency doesn't look to fabulous to facebook.

I've never understood the need to use tokens to segment the data for Ad Copy and Image. What does "Ad image 22" tell me on the stats screen? Nothing, because I can't remember what image 22 is until I actually go into FB and look at it. And if I'm going into FB to see what image 22 is, what is the point of attaching a number to ad copy or image in the first place? I can do the same just by attaching a single number to the subID and then viewing everything from within FB.

But maybe I'm missing something. So for those that use tokens, what is the value of it?

Let's say I test 10 different ad copies across 10 different images. If i want to know exactly how ad copy 1 compares to ad copy 2 or image 1 against image 2 across ALL ad copies, you can do that with tokens.
