Is MYADS (Myspace) still worth a try? ?

I would like to hear from people who have tried out myads...

As a side project, i would like to try out myads..

can anyone give me some tips?

CPM or CPC? or All about testing?

When i tried MyAds last year, it totally sucked balls.

i wonder if they changed the bad features since myads was bought by Rubicon

I've made good money with MyAds last year. It is one of the most frustrating systems in the aff game and so its scares most people off. Because its soo messed up theres opportunities to game the system. The info I'm about to share is a year old, but its still worth noting, knowing MyAds they probably didn't change too much.

Step1: Get a rep. They will be CLUTCH to helping you get things approved, whitelabelled, figure out the system, tell you what verticals work etc.

Step2: Go CPC, I tried CPM multiple times and even my rep said its not worth it, it was designed for branders to get max impressions not quality traffic.

Step3: This ain't no Facebook so don't get too crazy with interest and other targetting. Simply pick your gender and Age, don't even split test that ish. Also ask your rep about the age, but I know they have "buckets" they reccomend and if you don't use them it fucks shit up. Its something like 15 - 18, 19 -21, 22 -25, etc

Step4: Start with 300x250... seems to be best for testing. Launch 10 identical campaigns. Each campaign is basically its own ad unit. You cant have campaigns with multiple ads (unless they changed this). Out of hte 10 usually 2 will get some traction the rest just delete. If you're ad doesnt get going in the beggining it stands no chance.

Step5: Go for channel/placement targetting. You won't know what these are usually they have numbers assigned to them. But basically these are diff parts of MyAds and the rest of the Fox or whoever owns them nowadays network. HINT: Social Media 3189 I believe is MyAds homepage. If you can make something work there you will get MAX traffic.

Step6: Bid high bid low strategy with this like so many other PPC networks.

Step7: Here's some data from my old Make My Baby Campaign (Mobile $9.25 CPA) I'm not saying go run this, but I'm showing whats possible.

BTW since I haven't ran this in so long I really won't be able to help anyone out too much. Get a rep and bug them with questions. Just be warned that MyAds can be VERY frustrating. Also... their conversion pixel is the worst.

NOTE: This is data thats barely a year old. Last time I checked Mr Green posts data from 2 years ago. So if you like this and want to see more send some "Thanks" this way.

When I first started on MyAds I was having trouble getting traffic too. You have to have a your budget on atleast $1,000 and If you don't get a good CTR within the first few 1,000 impressions the ad dies and wont display anymore.

My rep has also told me to make a few ads of the same exact banner and age group. He said out of say 7-8, 1-3 of the banners will start to display. I've tested it and it works. I haven't ran on MyAds recently but I've had great success with it. For sure worth checking out.

Ask your Rep for the API once you get a Rep. I built out an automated adsever uploading and split testing creatives and campaigns through their API.

+1. Before they got bought by rubicon they were giving out api access like candy. Not sure if it's still the case.

If I remember correctly, age buckets: 14-17 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55+

Bad things happen when you dont use them.

so, it's better to target people exactly like that?

MySpace Ads still kicks ass for most US dating deals.. you'll need an account manager to get more done over there. If any one needs one, just ask!

How do you get a rep, just ask or do you need a certain ad spend? Can you explain "Step6: Bid high bid low strategy" a little more?

I keep reps to myself and my affiliates but I will share some contact info privately.

Here we go another network owner touting like his contacts are the shit. Let me guess you'll tell him the contact if he signs up with your networ?

Just ask other affs someone will give you their reps info.

As for bid high bid low... You bid high wait to get some clicks and traffic and slowly lower your bid overtime. Same for FB, AdWords, Pulse360, pretty much any CPC ad network this strategy helps. You have to give the system time to learn that your ads perform.

I still have publishers pushing traffic there - it works but it's VERY hard to optimize.

Why is it so hard for me to get any impressions on myads....

What makes it so hard?

very hard to optmize myads, but i did have some very profitable email submits running on auto pilot for a long time (1+ years) and the traffic quality was great (advertiser(s) loved it) but the campaigns have been dead now for probably about a year, just cant get the volume and cpc needed anymore. Was easily spending about 1500 a day though on just 1 email submit campaign. loved it while it lasted, i do know that dating did and does very well but like grind said, you need a whitelisted account, so you need a rep (they have gone thru many reps there over past few years) i would not recommend bidding cpm on there system though.
