(Guide) Simple Free PPV Spying Tool (35)

(Guide) Simple Free PPV Spying Tool

I'm outing this.. it's already been publicly outed then taken down by multiple sources... but this is the whole point of this forum.. to share secrets which is why it's set to 50 people.

If you've ever wanted to spy on PPV popups, then you've probably installed TrafficVance's software (gamevance) and MediaTraffic software (Vomba Screensavers) etc... What you traditionally would do is install the software on a seperate computer or virtual box, etc.. then view others PPV pops. There was 1 main problem: the popups would only come every so often, around once every hour at the quickest. So you would be scouring the internet to view pops, but you could pretty much only view 1 an hour at max. So it would take you weeks to do proper research. Recently another toolbar was outed which show the pops much faster, excerpt below:

"there was a secondary toolbar out especially for advertisers to get to scope out the competition. I heard rumors that this version has been around per request of some of the higher end advertisers.

This toolbar functioned quite similar to the original one in every aspect….except instead of seeing the Gamevance max of like 4 pop ups a day, you see a constant flurry of pop ups. This is useful for a few reasons. You have a MUCH easier way to look at several competing ads in a shorter period of time. You can notice what offers are being promoted and where. Lastly you can use to cost your competitors some cash if that’s your thing."
(The wasting your competitors $$, is not really my thing, but the spying is handy!)

This was orignally outed by Mike Chiasson, but he got contacted by way too many people, and took it down. You can read his blog post here: http://www.mikechiasson.com/2011/02/...ell-you-about/

ANYWAYS!
I have the install file (thanks to Mugga) and now everyone here can download it!

Another reason I have no problem in spending $200 a month to be a member.

Mmmm.... I tried this when Mike had it on his blog, but didn't get any pop-ups, so reverted to the install I already had.

I may try it on a clean install of XP, but I'd be interested in knowing whether other people had any luck with this.

This might be too obvious but noticed in another thread that people are using FF and not seeing popups. I thought Hotbar (LI) and Gamevance (TV) only work with Internet Explorer therefore make sure you try it with that.

I installed it and only still get a few pops, nothing more than usual.......no toolbar or anything...was this just the normal Gamvevance install?

02-06-2011 04:31 PM #7 stackman (Administrator)

I haven't installed it myself yet, is anyone seeing more than normal pops? (From installing this stuff in the past, I saw way more pops on IE)

Anyone who got this working?

Nice post - thanks!

I've tried this a few times and can't seem to get anything than the normal pop every 25 minutes or so. I've even tried setting my clock forward, and it doesn't seem to help much. Any ideas?

The pops are random for me, but the way to increase the frequency of pops is to fast forward the time clock to a later time or date.

Interesting...as soon as I transferred the file to my PC, I got a Microsoft Security Essential adware warning...

Does anyone have a link to a regular Gamevance toolbar download?

At first I installed the one in this thread but wasn't able to get any pops - now I would like to install the other toolbar.

I've got a gamevance account, but am not prompted to download anything for some reason....is there a direct link to the toolbar download on their site?

09-27-2011 01:17 AM #14 iwanturcoin (Member)

I installed the from this thread and it works for me..... i don't get heaps of pops (a few an hour), i seem to get more gamevance on mozilla and hotbar on IE. The thing is as well that if ur trying to get pops from one URL with only a couple of competitors, they will prob have their campaign set to 1/24hrs so u should only get 2,3,4,5 or so pops on one URL/day

09-27-2011 01:47 AM #15 canopus (Member)

Did the pops come right away? Or did it take a couple of hours/days?

09-27-2011 07:27 AM #16 iwanturcoin (Member)

right away pretty much for me, try pushing ur pc clock forward, heard that helps sometimes and try both mozilla and IE. I googled setupgamevance.exe and found another link for you if you want to try it >>>

I've had this installed for almost a year on a legit Win7 VM and it pops all day long if you push the clock up by an hour after each pop.

Stack,
How would this be different than a tool like BoxOfAds.com?

Thanks,
A

This is for you to spy yourself, whereas BoxOfAds.com has already spied/screenshotted/organized for you =)

This is an 8 year old thread - so chances are the answer is no.

If you're wanting to spy on pop ads, I'd highly recommend you check out Adplexity Mobile. Here's the discount thread:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...or-STM-Members

Alternatively, you can spy manually - please see this post for some details (look in the section "So Where Can I Get These Landing Pages From?")

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-landing-pages

Good luck!
