how did i spend over $1M on pops (7)

hi everyone . My name is Ramy and i am from egypt and recently moved to live in the states

i am not here to sell anything to anyone . just will talk about my personal experience which i conside a " success " so you may be motivated and maybe i can help the community
English isnt my first language so you will see a tons mistakes

i have very long history of struggling and losing a tons of money in campaigns but i want to speak about the success stories at the end

i love POP traffic . i know alot of you guys may hate it because it does not convert and its low quality . this is understanable

its not great quality like facebook but it worth your time and study as its the only traffic source has like ZERO RESTRICTIONS that you can say whever in your lp , do whatever , promote whatever
without getting banned and you will get traffic within minutes after approval so lets get started :

after years of ups and downs with sweepstakes offers and viral stuff on facebook

i went to financial niche and forex to be specific . i know its not popular for affiliate industy where most do other stuff but i always like the underground niches that not alot of people talk about it

i saw a tons of forex offers that pay on CPA basis like $500 -$1000

but that its street payout , i undestood the fears of those comopanies from affiliates so they pay only on CPA so they got nothing to lose and they will pay you that much for customor acqustion but this is big risk to take becuase you may spend a tons of money and get no deposite and it might be not your faullt . they may have bad sales team , poor system etc

so i took another path i start to contact a tons of forex companies , who even dont know anything about us as affiliates or marketers

and by the way i call companies who work on MENA region which is my playground as arabic is my mother tongue and i know very well how to create hyper catchy titles and copies

it easier for me to serve the market i know very well

i call and email a tons of companies ... offering them free hot live leads to call , if they like my quality lets do a custom CPL deal , most dont get back to me but some get back

and it went as planned . found over the course of 4 years around 15 forex company to work with me where they use to pay me between $30 to $50 CPL in saudi arabia and other gulf countries

it was mind blowing . actually was selling around 300 to 500 leads per day , we created a tons of campaigns all over the internet POPS , FB , NATIVE , PUSH . google etc

hired account manger , accountant ,media buyer , developer and me so its team of 5 guys

i have spent so much money and earned a tons of money , we spend over 1M on pop traffic alone mainly with propellerads and other sources like zeropark , adsterra , admaven , activerevenue

i dominated this market with my team for few years and then it started to die because a tons of affiliates jump in that niche and ripped my campaigns . when i started i was the only one

now i compete with a tons of guys who do the same

Now that market become extremely satrurated and i quit doing this planning for next big thing and here is is what i have done with pop traffic
i was doing


1:Forget about payout of networks , they treat affiliates like shit ! network shave . advertisers treat us as scammers so forget about that

just find the client website , go contact them directly and get a custom deal ! you will gain more respect when you have personal relationship with your clients without middle man

2: I never send traffic to advertiser pages . most of the time its shit , load so slow , not really optimized and i cant test different pages

so his landers might ruin my campaign and make me lose my money so instead i make deal with adverisers to do API

so whenever traffic sign up in my own landing pages its automatically transfered to them LIVE

3: Pop ups is interruption marketing and people hate it so you have to have a really catchy landing page to see any results . you have like 1 second to grab traffic attention or you will lose them forever


4: STORYTELLING !!! i used storytelling landing pages and mixed up with rumors and trends from the country i am targeting

5: I used advertorial landing pages that look like NEWS with promotional articles , so people think this article come from news website and its not annoying ads like what they use to see


if you want success please DO A STORYTELLING and mix it with the trends , poeple love stories , people like to read stories so if you make a story about what you promote you will get definatly get results

6: you have to have a very catchy weired OMG image in your landing page so ... i was doing so agressive that i am being warned from propellerads to not do very agressive images lol

story make people enaged with your landing page , and it will look like its not annoying ads that was my SECRET

7: You have to create a relationship with your traffic source account manger , if you want to bank , those guys have a pricless info to share with you and you really need it

strong relationship with them will open your eyes to so much apportunires you dont know

if you have someone who is your eyes on market so you will save a tons of money and effort and will avoid failure , if you depend on yourself and your great skills you will have really hard time in our bussiness .. so relationships is EVERYTHING

8:Use cloudflare and make sure that your landing pages load so fast ... if it does not your campaign will definatly fail

u may use cloud image hosting so it helps your landers to load faster

9: My last tip . find the big payout offers . its the only way to bank big . i cant image that i have spent a years of my life promoting a $2 offers .. its too hard to get that profitable

When you approach these companies, I'm guessing most of them are not familiar with the affiliate business model.

If they decide to work with you, do you set up the affiliate tracking system for them?

Because you mentioned that your customers get the leads in real time

well some of them know about affiliates but not all know , so i use Voluum for my own tracking and also i have custom CRM to store leads if i want to sell them again or monetize them in future and in my custom CRM i know how many leads being generated and how many leads each client get

for them when you send the leads via API they will be able to track leads comes from you

Err, what about push?

That shows once more that coming up with a unique approach can work very good.

Networks also have many advantages.

For example they usually offer good tracking options, unluckily quite a few direct advertisers don´t have it.

Payment terms are often also faster when you work with networks .

Networks also give you the chance to test many offers in one platform so that you don´t have to sign up for each offer/product individually.

Nonetheless it can be better to go direct once you find a good performing offer.

This is something that´s often overlooked.

Even though affiliate marketing the way we run it is basically a pure online industry it should never be underestimated how important networking and having good connections can be

About high payout offers on Pops in general, a friend of mine was running Casino FTD on pops few years ago.

Payout was about $300 and he ran at about $100 CPA so on average like $200 profit per FTD.

But you should be 100% confident that the offer is worth it when you run such high payouts on traffic like pops
