Youtube Ads for Indian Beauty Shopify Website
Hello Marketers,
We have an Indian client who are into luxury beauty products, their products are bit costly compared to others in the industry. We tried running youtube ads for them but the results are not so great as you can see in below screentshot.

Can any Youtube experts help us in launching the best campaigns for this store?
1. Should we have a prelanding page for youtube ads?
2. What are the best performing ad content for ECom like user reviews, product explanation.
3. Selecting Audience: Unlike Facebook, Google audience are too broad to target. How can we select the audience who might be interested in our products.
Also where can I learn more about Youtube ads, please suggest any youtube channels or courses.
Thanks

Hello, the screenshot is missing, can you please upload it to imgur and then paste the BBCode share url here?
1. Should we have a prelanding page for youtube ads?
A proper landing page can increase the conversions, no matter what traffic source you are using. So if you are promoting a specific product, the clicks should go to a product specific landing page too.
Some people use just a "rich" product page that lists the details, testimonials, images/videos etc... some build dedicated long landers that promote just one specific product and also try to collect emails or other contact information. Hard to say what would be better in your case, you need to experiment. Just don't send the clicks to the main page of the store or a very poor product page that has just the product image and price, for example.
2. What are the best performing ad content for ECom like user reviews, product explanation.
UGC content works the best with video Ads these days. Unboxing, showing the product in real life, reviews, testimonials, ambassadors or influencers talking about the product. Even videos from production that show how valuable the product is, something about the company that shows it cares or the environment etc... These days it's important to "humanize" the brand and show the buyers it's in line with their own values and principles, so they feel comfortable to buy their products.
Have you tried FB already btw? And Google search or GDN?

Hi Matuloo, Thanks for the reply.
Updated the post with screenshot link, please check it once. The above screenshot data is from campaigns where the traffic is directly going to the product page without any prelanding.
We used UGC videos but mostly from influencers and most of them looks like ads right away, maybe because of that the conversion rates are low.
1. We are running campaigns on Facebook ads successfully, though the ROAS is 1.5X to 2X we are able generate some profits with returning customers (returning customers are 30%).
2. For display ads: I have created a blog post about how this product will solve their problem and used it as a prelanding page but it didn't work. Less then 5% clicks went to website and non of them converted.

Ok, so your average cost per conversion is 3400 rupees, which is like 40 dollars if I'm not wrong, where do you need it to be?
I see some of the Ads are performing MUCH better than others, the lowest cost per conversion is around 1300 rupees so 17 dollars or so, is that still too high? Where do you need to be?

Not every influencer knows how to make proper UGC for marketing purposes, that's absolutely true, you need to find those who are good at it.

A blog post is usually long and not entirely written to sell, these are good for SEO, but for direct sales you need to write a strong sales copy, maybe a listicle or even the rich product page that I have mentioned and make that part of the store itself and send the paid traffic there.
Can you show us the product page where you are sending the clicks to?

This might be very obvious and you may already have it covered, but do you have COD enabled? It's still an absolute must in Indian e-commerce at the moment. Without it, you're probably losing a tonne of conversions.

@matuloo if the CPA is RS. 1000 then we are break even and anything less than that is slightly profit. But Rs. 1000 CPA is good as we are going to make more sells with the customers.

OK, so you have one Ad that is almost there and it's actually the 2nd best one with a nice amount of conversions. This signals that there is potential.
What I would do personally would be to focus on that one Ad and try to find out why it beats the others. Is there something specific about it? Does it use a different angle, does it have a stronger message, is the video better in some way? Was this Ad made by a specific influencer who might be better at selling or maybe just talking in a better way or "better" looking.
It has high view rate, low cost per view... there must be something to it. Try to make more Ads like this one, made by the same person or a similar type...
And obviously, you can do a lot on the actual sales page or the blog post, have you tried improving this part of the campaign already? There is always something that can be done to improve the performance.
Better copy, more CTAs, better images, more testimonial, more persuasive testimonials, better value proposition by using bundles, discounts, 2+1 offers etc... there is so much you can try.
