article submission questions

Hello,

Im brand new here to the site. Please forgive me if I am not doing this correctly in asking for help.

I was trying to submit articles I had created at iwriter.com to multiple article submission sites.
I wasnt able to log into ezinearticles for some reason. They are supposed to be very popular I hear
for submitting articles. I wasnt sure if it was just me that couldnt log onto their site, or if others might
know what is going on with them.

My other question is if I put an affiliate disclosure in the article, where should I place it, in the actual article,
or at the separate box at the bottom below the article for contact information and other stuff that goes in
that separate box.

Thank you all for any help.

Hello, I don't think many members of STM have ever used ezinearticles, but who knows maybe some did...

I had a quick look at their website and it look like they either suspended their member section or are facing some tech problems.

Maybe they decided to close the website or changed the approach to only allow a select amount of authors to submit content?

Even the most recent articles date back to December last year.

I did a quick search on the topic and looks like they were facing some major problems and traffic loss due to the Google updates, I think it's game over for them

These types of websites don't seem to be that popular anymore... did you find some solid sources for article submissions btw? I would love to try some.

Not sure what you write about, but here is a good site/community that I submit stuff to from time to time: instructables.com ... but their range of acceptable topics is quite small.

So sorry to hear they got suspended. Many years ago there was a time when submitting to ezinearticles was the best way to get quality back links.

@kfriday What's your ultimate goal? To get backlinks? To get your affiliate link seen?

My goal was to get the article noticed to drive traffic to my optin page

I think they were once useful like 15 years ago. I don't think this is a great source of traffic or backlinks (indeed, it may even be harmful) in 2022. Google's Panda update more than 10 years ago killed a lot of these low quality content sites like ezinearticles and I believe they really haven't recovered since that time.

If someone is telling you otherwise, I would be very wary of that advice.

One great guest post on an authority site in your niche is going to bring you more traffic than posting on websites like ezinearticles.

They really don't have much traffic anymore so don't worry about them.

I have found an article back from 2011 that says they lost 93% of their traffic due to the Panda update. And it has gone down even more ever since.

Websites that basically just served as a hub to repost articles are pretty much all dead by now. Google views this as duplicate content, so it doesn't benefit SEO much at all anymore either.

These days, you need to be creative.

Sites like medium.com or quora.com took over. They have solid readership and it's possible to add a link to your articles. But don't just repost what you have, you need to modify your stuff so it's not a direct duplicate.

There are still many active forums out there, in pretty much any niche, you just have to find them. It would help to know what niche you focus on, I could try and find some places for you.

Think about FB groups next, there is TON of them, some will let you submit links to your articles.

In case your optin page is solid, you can also try paid traffic... it's possible to get pretty cheap clicks from GDN and boosting posts on FB can drive cheap clicks too.

Yeah, I think people at one point actually were (and maybe still are) trying to actively get articles and backlinks from ezinearticles REMOVED because these links were actually penalized by Google for having them

Yup, they still have this "remove articles" contact on their website. People also used the "disavow links" function in google's search console heavily at some point, to get rid of the possible penalties.

Based on the info I have, google is more or less back to the "ignore bad links" instead of "penalize bad links" system... you never know for sure with G, but that seems to be the general consensus now. Many links from toxic neighborhoods can obviously still equal to a ban and removal from the index, that's for sure.

Hello, thank you everyone for all the advice. You had mentioned it would be helpful to know what niche Im in. Im in the making money online niche.
even more specifically for business owners/previous business owners. Im just getting started and couldnt be newer to this process/business.

Someday I hope to have the knowledge of you guys on here and actually know what I am doing, but I understand we all must start somewhere at some
point, so here I am. Im looking to absorb knowledge from you guys like a sponge if I can.

I appreciate everyone on here. Thank you so much

My goal is to drive as much traffic to my opt in page as possible. And as soon as possible would be a good idea I would imagine also.
Tips from you guys are welcome. Thanks again

My first approach was the organic free traffic sources, then add paid for sources after that, but I could do this in any order, even starting
with the paid sources first.

Does anyone recommend solo ads anymore? Any reputable vendors? Any tips on what I should have them write in their emails to help sell their
subscribers or audience to head over to my opt in page to check it out?

Thanks again everyone, have a great weekend

A lot depends on your current situation.

Perhaps most importantly, right now,

1) do you have more time than money or
2) do you have more money than time?

If you are time rich, but cash poor, then doing organic makes a lot of sense. If you are time poor, but cash rich, then paid traffic is a much better option.

As for organic, you really need to focus on what is attractive in 2022 and 2023 and 2024 ... not what may have been attractive in 2004 (I can't believe that is almost 20 years ago!)

A journalist once asked the great ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky what the secret to his success was. Gretzky famously replied, “I skate to where the puck is going, not where it has been.”

So if I were you, I'd probably ditch whatever some clueless person may have told you about ezinearticles, and probably focus on Tiktok if you want to generate organic traffic. Skate where the puck is going ... not where it has been.

Thanks again for the reply. I have not looked at tiktok yet, but keep hearing its the way to go. I need to look on there to see what kind of info I should
put in my videos. I hear "side hussles" as a way to make money is working well at the moment. Or shoot a video naked. lol jk.

I have time and money currently, I just retired from what I was previously doing. I have about a month left to make enough money to pay my
bills ($4,000/month minimum) before I will need to get a job somewhere to make sure the bills are paid.

I have tons of time available each day, money is running out more and more each month since I dont currently have an income coming but am using
savings instead.

Im not sure what kind of videos to shoot for tiktok yet, which is slowing me down from starting down that path. Maybe I should just go on
tiktok and check things out to get started. Im not sure where to put my link to my opt in page yet on tiktok, but maybe once I check out the
site, it will be self explanatory.

Thanks again for everyones input. Enjoy the weekend

If you have time and want to save on money instead, try free methods.

Google is your friend (e.g. "ways to get free traffic to website"), but I will list a few to get you started:

-Leaving comments under relevant content, with your link in them. Can be relevant blog posts, social media posts, videos, quora questions, reddits - whatever you can find that's already getting traffic.

-Join a bunch of facebook groups where your ideal target audience hangs out, make helpful posts and drop your link. (May need permission from group owners to do this - some charge a fee.)

-Grow your own following on social media. As @cmdeal has suggested, Tiktok is perfect for this. You can also post the same vids to youtube (as youtube shorts).

In fact, you can extend beyond growing a following on just 1-2 platforms. You can choose to go gung-ho and grow a following on every major social platform, by learning to repurpose each piece of content you make, for posting to multiple platforms. Google "how to repurpose content" for more info.

Also: I've watched a presentation by Gary Vaynerchuk on how he repurposes content for multiple social media platforms - I'll try to find it and summarize it for you. Will leave a link here later if I do!

-Add a blog to your site (where you have your opt-in), do proper keyword research, and add content to target keywords you're confident can rank high in google for, in a few months (not years). This would require learning SEO.

-Do guest blogging.

These should be enough to get you started!

We were just discussing email marketing a few days ago - you may find some useful info there:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-course-offers

As for what you should write in the emails: I would strongly recommend for you to learn some copywriting first, then practice that on your own mailing list BEFORE taking the email that has proven to perform well, and paying for email blasts.

I linked to some good info on copywriting in this recent post:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post430187

And we also have an entire forum section dedicated to copywriting and advertising angles:

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...amp-Psychology

I have time and money currently, I just retired from what I was previously doing. I have about a month left to make enough money to pay my
bills ($4,000/month minimum) before I will need to get a job somewhere to make sure the bills are paid.

I have tons of time available each day, money is running out more and more each month since I dont currently have an income coming but am using
savings instead.
If I were you, I would get a job first. It would be nearly impossible for someone to go from $0 to $4k/mo in earnings online within a month, unless you have some massive advantage or resource we don't know about (e.g. someone handing you a proven business, on a silver platter).

Online marketing - or any business for that matter - involves a certain level of risk, and requires a certain amount of investment. You need both time AND money no matter what traffic or business model you choose (although the time vs. money ratio can differ widely from model to model). A month is unlikely to be enough even if you take the "fast" route of learning how to buy paid traffic.

Also: In addition to the $4k+ you'll be needing to cover living expenses, you'll also need to set aside some disposable cash for your online ventures. Psychologically it can be REALLY tough trying to make an online business work while you're draining your savings without seeing any money coming in. Don't ask me how I know - I definitely wouldn't want anyone else to experience this.

Tips:

-Read all the major posts in the Tiktok section.

-Do hours and hours of browsing on Tiktok and write notes on what you feel are good "hooks" or tips/tricks that make videos "work".

-There are presentation summaries for Ad World and Ecom World that talk about how to make great videos - you can find some here:

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...ches-Summaries

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...ches-Summaries

To save money, you can just shoot these videos yourself. Start a Tiktok channel and post relevant content regularly - of course the content would need to be relevant to your target audience.

The hard thing is you need to be diligent in posting content regularly. In the beginning when you don't yet have a lot of subscribers, it will be hard to keep yourself motivated. Good thing is that vids can be really short - like, between a few seconds to under a minute short.

So you can set aside an afternoon, make 20-50 of these, and post them gradually over the next 1-2 weeks.

Hope that helps! Please feel free to continue the discussion!

The last few posts were spot on. Great job everyone & thank you.

I agree, I will need to get a job again soon as my savings have dwindled each month since I have retired from my business I was doing.

I went to tiktok for the first time today to check it out. Im excited by how easy it seems. For my username, is it better to use keywords
related to my niche (like everyone else on there) for example: makingmoneywithDori or moneygoddess or makingmoneywithgreg or come up with something original? Should it be close to my opt in page url for a username
on tiktok or doesnt the username mean much on tiktok? (my opt in page url is: eachdayisfriday.com Would it be beneficial in any way to
get my tiktok name similar to that name, or doesnt it matter much at all? could I make my url my tiktok username if its available? Does anyone thing
thats a good idea, or not so much? What about a name like: moneytree or something unique like that for a tiktok username. Any thoughts on this part
of the sign up process for tiktok username.

After I get your responses, I should be ready to start tiktok.

Thanks again guys and gals, you have provided excellent value in just the first 2 days I have been a member of this site. Thank you so much!

Sorry if Im not supposed to put my url on here or anything like that, I just wanted to give you guys as much accurate information as I could to get
the best reply possible based on all the available information I could give you all. Thanks again, and have an excellent weekend

Glad we're able to help!

As for choosing a tiktok name: It should convey what the channel is about, and be memorable. But don't overthink this - you can always change it later. This article has relevant info:

https://seodesignchicago.com/social-...ame-on-tiktok/

Don't overthink the content either in the beginning - instead of aiming to score a basket with each throw, aim to throw as many times as you can and SOME of those will make it into the basket. I.e. Put out as many pieces of decent content as possible to find out what your audience responds to.

Also: Do some spying of similar audiences/followings to see what kinds of stuff they engage with the most (comments/likes/shares), and try to do something similar.

Have fun with this!

P.S. I found that material by Gary Vaynerchuk on his website - here it is for your reference:

https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/how-t...tent-in-a-day/

Enjoy! And please feel free to continue the discussion at any time! That's what we're here for!

There are actually quite a few people on TikTok shooting videos with very basic financial tips and some of them are doing extremely well!

Just a quick example so you know what I'm talking about, check this one: https://www.tiktok.com/@humphreytalk...96972206935339

Videos like these are fairly easy to shoot and you don't have to go into specifics all that much.

I've seen tons of these during the past month that I'm following TikTok more.
