Building/Ranking Our Growing Forum

Me and my partners have recently (2 weeks ago) launched a site:
http://muscle-shred.com

(We own muscleshred.com too, and will redirect soon).

We also launched our forum two days ago:
http://forum.muscle-shred.com/

We've seen a surge in traffic to our Misc. section through word of mouth members urging members to join from other communities, but we just want to continue to accelerate and grow at a fast pace.

What are some suggestions you guys can offer to help blow this forum up even further. I mean, how can we continue to build our community presence through SEO? We have the funds to invest in paid ads, but we'd like to hear any suggestions you guys can offer up.

Your site and forum looks good dude... some great information there. As for SEO, it pays itself when you have more posts/threads coming up often.. You can SEO subsections of your forum.. Starting from more niche terms like "teen bodybuilding", "female bodybuilding" etc, the ever updating threads within the page will help your SEO efforts tremendously, just be sure you make the better posts (posts that have more quality content) to sticky!

SEO goes a long way beyond content and links, it revolves around how interactive your page is between visitors. My best bet to super scale your forum (give you have awesome content) is to hire a guy to collect product owner emails, lists owners emails, even similar forums, and do JVs with them...

JV in what sense? Asking them to post on the forum?

Keep the number of subforums to a minimum at first.
Only break it apart when your members ask for it, and that happens when there's just too many posts to sift thru in that subforum.

That'll increase postings.

On a side note, how do you manage to land interviews with all these beautiful people?
Email?
Face to face at events?

Do you give them a reason for taking their time to be interviewed?

Twitter, E-mail have been the most effective thus far.
