February = 28 days of push testing
Hello,
It’s been a while since I was on this forum. Still been reading and following some stuff, but mainly been thinking about my next step. In Q4 of 2021 I started my first (baby) steps in AM, you can find some my ‘follow along’ here (https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...t-steps-in-POP)
When looking at the numbers I can’t say it was a major success
I promoted a bunch of HAKA offers and got 85 conversions = € 29.35
Traffic cost was about € 400.
Oh and … got € 2.809 with PRO PUSH. Feels a bit like finding some penny on the street and risking the performance of the funnel :-)
BUT I did manage to
- set up campaigns
- get the landers working
- get the tracking right
- …
(thx @vortex) for that.
I think my major mistake was to set up small campaigns again and again to get disappointed after not getting fast results + setting up campaigns and just let them up and running till the end of the budget (another € 10 wasted…).
Second reason I wasted money is because I wanted to test a lot of stuff. After 10x campaigns I got something like a Whitelist (about 15 placements that got me conversions) and I was wondering if this would run worldwide and what the result would be. Of course not a really good idea (it got conversions but not like it was a winner). And I know this set up was the exact opposite of what I learned in the great 40 days challenge of [FONT=Arial @vortex[/FONT] and Push guide of [U @twinaxe[/U]
But I just needed to do stuff like that to really get pop/push.
It all got me thinking. I really like AM, I mentioned this before in a post: I am someone who believe that freedom is the ultimate goal in life. I make a good living as a freelance online marketeer for agencies but it still feels like working for a ‘boss’... AM is a very interesting way to get more or full professional freedom.
So… the only logical next step is to keep on digging till I get to the point of earning some decent AM €€€
Okay enough babla.. here’s the plan for next month
SO FOR FEBRUARY I WANT TO WRITE THIS FA >> 28 days of PUSH TESTING
The reason of this FA is of course that I will be easier to keep myself accountable and do my work on a daily basis + of course I really hope to get some suggestions from experienced ‘push people’ on STM :-)
And a FA is an easy way to keep a journal.
In this post you will see my set up and questions so I still got some days to get started and change some things if needed.
The setup to start is based onthe things I did with pop and the partners I used for that.
TRACKING @FunnelFlux (setup should be fully working from day 1 - been a while though)
TRAFFIC Propellerads
Would like to test PushGround or other push networks later on.
OFFERS : I would like to test SOI Sweeps. Would like to test a phone offer and a voucher.
GEO : kinda had all of my conversions in LATAM. So would start here.
LANDERS: 1 will have 3 working landers (with push collection from PRO PUSH).- you see I did learn something in Q4 2021 :-)
BUDGET: was planning to test with € 12-15 a day to start with, if something takes off extra budget would not be a problem.
Was thinking testing 6 campaigns a day. Suppose payout of € 0.75 so killing/Pausing after 3x payout (2.25 x 6)
geo 1 - offer 1 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
geo 2 - offer 1 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
geo 3 - offer 1 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
geo 1 - offer 2 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
geo 2 - offer 2 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
geo 3 - offer 2 - lander 1/2/3 - mobile
When I get an offer of € 0.75 payout > 3x payout = € 2.25 x 6 = 13.5 a day
SOME FURTER DETAILS - using all the great tips I found on this forum:
- letting a campaign run for 3x payout a day.
- using 5 different ads for 1 campaign
- ads with emoij
- mobile FRESH traffic to test first
- Android traffic
- Google Chrome browser (did all my conversions with POP on Chrome, or is this different with push?)
- no broker traffic
- dayparting from the beginning (day traffic) - should also limit the budget.
- cap 1 / day
- CPC, bidding ??? 80% of suggested bid or just go with the suggested bid?
- optimize cutting ‘big spender placements’ (1x payout)
GOAL: I would be very happy if I would get to a € 3 day profit. This would mean my tracker and landingpages expenses are covered.
(Got inspired by a post of @twinaxe https://stmforum.com/forum/showthread.php?49127-Beginner-Series-Part-2-Make-x-xxx-Month-With-3-Day-campaigns).
SOME QUESTIONS:
- Any suggestions on offers? Only tested with HAKA at the moment. So first job is to get great offers and the tracking working
- 3x payout a good way to go? I will cut placements fast (1x payout and no conversions > kill it with fire)
- The landers have a PRO PUSH script to select some extra’s €€€, but I was wondering if maybe it would be wiser to start without so my initial setup is not bothered by this. Probably to start with a funnel as solid as possible?
- One annoying thing with Propeller Ads is the limit of € 10. Really don’t want to spend that amount but I will have to manually stop it at some point. … other solution?
So very interested in your feedback.
Please don’t bother bringing it gently ;-) If a setting is crap, please do tell me it’s crap.

Well 10 USD is not really much for testing, but anyway.... if you want to spend less you could do dayparting and let the camp just run for a specific day.

Don't wonder. Test instead!
Sometimes with push sub script converts actually better some times it does not. Just create two landers and do a split test.

I know € 10 a day is not that much, but the goal is to work on it on a daily basis, so willing to spend a small budget every day.
Was planning to use dayparting, something I always use for Google Ads clients because at night there are no conversions.
thx for the feedback
Any suggestions for good offers or networks?

Thx, I did the 40 day tutorial so I know the networks suggested.
Still a kind of a lottery since I have no experience or relations with a network.
I guess I will just pick some offers (gut feeling) and see how it goes.
Got to start somewhere....

DAY 1 of 28
Let’s do this, first day first campaigns.
Launch 12 campaigns.
Why 12?
Because = 4 countries.
- 1 offer direct
- 1 other offer direct
- 1 same offer with lander
Kind of used my ‘knowledge’ of my first moves with POP.
So 1 lander (giftbox - with push subscriber script) and 2 direct HAKA offers that sometimes converted a bit for me some weeks ago.
GEO
Jamaica (had some succes there with HAKA and POP)
Bolivia (same)
Colombia (bigger)
Dominican republic (LATAM and cheap)
TRAFFIC
Speaking of cheap. I used fresh subs to test but with all the campaigns I used a CPC of 0.005
PropellerAds (traffic provider) didn’t allow me to set it on 0.003 for the first day :-)
RESULTS
meh… kinda made the mistake I also made when testing POP and just let the campaigns run while not looking at them (went grocery shopping, a man has got to eat).
So blew much more than I had planned. Planned to just pause campaigns after 5x payout.
Oh well, could have been worse.
Learnings of the day:
- the tracking of the setup worked well (FunnelFlux)
- only made 1 conversion.
- there seems to be no difference between direct and with lander. But I know there is not enough data to claim this.
This was the lander btw (only used one because this one worked best for me with pop).
BUDGET:
COST : $ 31.336
REV: 1 conversion of $ 0.35 + about $ 0.30 from Push.me = 0.55
RESULT : lost about $ 30.80
(The results of the Push.me are surprising. Almost 16% of the visitors of the lander converted into subscribers.)
QUESTIONS:
Any comments on
- the set-up? More/less geo’s? More/less offers?
- the CTR of the Push ads?
The ads only ran for a few hours? So maybe I just got the ‘wrong' hours’?
Perhaps I should just test with 1 or 2 geo’s and test for a entire day? Seems more logical.
Kinda sucks that you cannot distribute the traffic during a day.
NEXT / TOMORROW:
Because I got success in Jamaica and Bolivia, I'm going to try these again but go for an entire day.
So basically just gonna continu
20220201 - push direct win iphone - bolivia
20220201 - push direct win iphone - jamaica
Still going for 0.005 CPC and 3 push creative (just killed to worst performig).
+
Do the technical set up of some new offers (surveys from @zeydoo).
Or any other suggestions?

On propeller you can for pops. Click on "campaign schedule" and either choose specific hours or click distributed.
For push traffic of course it is not possible because you never know when people actually click your creative (speaking of cpc bidding).
