While everyone was trying to figure out Admob and Jumptap the last few months I figure I take my campaigns to a few other places and find more traffic sources. So now that I milked this one traffic source for the last while for many profitable days I decided I'll out it. Secondly, I will warn you that you get better rates for larger spends. I'm just outting the source and some angles I used to pull off consistent 100-300+% roi days.
Source: Angry Birds Android app self serve http://www.rovio.com/en/advertise
What I ran? Ringtone offers targeting users with ads enticing them to download an angry birds ringtone or wallpapers. Email submits/co-reg offers.
Happy testing!
Dudeman... you are awesome...
YOU MOTHERFUCKER!

oh ya this damn thread is going to catch some heat for sure.
You made me lose. I spent like 3 hours on the last level and then an ad comes up right over my yellow bird when I was about to launch it.
Thank You.

only geo targeting on this and no carrier targeting at all right on this? or am i missing the carrier targeting somewere
Angry birds ringtones or wallpapers while playing Angry birds? Awesome!
I'm sure we can think of ways to match cpa offers to popular apps!
This is what Google spits out when I search for platforms powered by Burstly:
http://www.burstly.com/s/rovio/StorefrontWizard
http://www.burstly.com/s/ea/StorefrontWizard
http://www.burstly.com/s/backflip/StorefrontWizard

Maybe I should hit up Burstly and find out what else they've got going...
'Angry Birds' is a game. This is business. There is no room for emiotions in business. Quit the name calling and start banking.
awesome share!
Thanks for sharing! Well found!
when I play the game on my tablet....they do some crazy huge ads (like rich media and actual commercials) seems like you could test a bunch of stuff because the ads take over the whole app
Hmmm no real targeting other than Country... or am I missing something?
Also, anyone figure out how to do Conversion tracking I see an Actions column in the reports?
Sweet share. Thanks!
What are the min bids for their platform? Don't have access to a real computer for a few days but just wondering
4.00 cpm suggested in usa
There are so many of these mobile advertising platforms, but this one owns inventory on some of the more well known apps out there. If the rules are lax lots of opprtunity!
@russian/shoent yeah i don't think there's a lot of targeting options available if any other than geo.
@doryphoros was definitely just kidding around..
^ any examples outside of the obvious (gaming d/l) on angrybirds? I ran some dating on wordswithfriends but it was on sitescout
Guys.. In lieu of the advertising platform, i did a quick research and found this SUPERBLY awesome infographics that you can bank with the Angry bird platform..
It's all about demographics

^ very cool find. Lots of angles for this type of stuff, especially with the relaxed reviewers of mobile!
I tried to setup 2 campaigns in it, got denied.. And no they are not porns/boobs/babes/dating stuff.. Buggers, they don't even have FAQ/Rules section, guess we would have to keep on adding different types of campaigns (while pushing their limits) to find out ourselves...
Anyone has any inputs in this?
It's definitely a VERY GOOD traffic source with a lot less competitors (except within STM after this thread here, lol)..
Joe
joejoechen, I feel the suggested cpm is a little high, is your bids less than 4.00?
yes dude i uploaded 2 exact same campaigns but different bids, 1 at 2.00, another at 3.50.. i'm not targeting US country though... wanted to test that, but i got denied
Related to this: http://www.burstly.com/ makes Self-serve advertising possible for a few other Apps with huge audiences :
Words with Friends - You can start with $50 (whereas Angry Birds requires $200 min). Choice of CPC and CPM (which starts at $1.50...not sure how much traffic that would bring though)
Paper Toss
Scrabble
Stack that paper boys. And keep the good info coming!!!
how long is the normal wait to get ads approved?
Thanks. The offers need to be mobile optimized on Rovio? How much testing before ROI > 0?
Hahahaha they don't like FB looking ads.
I tried to get info as to acceptable verticals, but no word from either Burstly or Rovio. Seems like Burstly is for app developers mainly. And ring tones are apparently soon out in the US at least.
Message from Burstly:
You may buy banners on CPM basis on Angry Birds Classic. As far as guidelines are concerned, we will be posting more information in detail in the near future. For the time being, I can provide the following guidelines on what is not permissible:
-Dating sites
-Giveaway type ads
-Re-branding of Angry Birds in the creative
-Anything promoting pornography, drugs, or alcohol
^ so wtf is left LOL... gaming? and other iphone apps?
ringtones, other apps, financial offers, normal lead gens, possibly pay per call, etc.
gogogogo
^^ Lots of creativity to be done with the ringtone offers. You don't just have to offer 'lil wayne ringtones' anymore, it's 2012 - the world is ending soon - put on your creative pants!
build your own lead gen funnels = $$$$$
they have pretty high CPM..
Anyone has a contact for an account rep or sth?
I've been trying to get a hold of someone there...
Cheers!

Has anyone got an offer accepted? What vertical?
nope, tried everything - did get a reply from support though...
'Publishers in competition have a right to refuse an ad'
I'm checking the availability of a refund for the $200. It seems that they're mostly running in-house inventory and don't want competition. And the impression of Burstly is an app dev service, not an ad agency.
Message from Burstly:
"Ads for non-competing apps that lead to the App Store or Android Market are favored the most highly.
However, the most important thing to note is that Zynga would like to ensure that ads that request personal information from users do not run."
Thanks for posting a traffic source that's impossible to work with
That only cost me $200, what's the big deal, right?
They don't refund?
I gave up, couldn't get anything approved, they do issue refunds eventually if you keep submitting support requests
they suck.
that's awesome ......1,000 thanks
