Need ideas for jewelry store. (23)

I have a jewelry store and need some suggestions on blog contents to drive traffic to the store. Do people read jewelry related blogs?! I want this blog to drive some "free" traffic.

What kind of jewelry is it? Like women's jewelry or rapper/male type jewelry?

I don't have any ideas for articles, but for finding article ideas I'd recommend 1) Quora, absolutely fantastic place to figure out what people are talking/caring about and what drives attention, 2) Reddit, similar to above but not as good, 3) google autocomplete, aka type in "Best jewelry... " Does jewelry..." "How jewelry.." etc and see what auto-completes pop-up... 4) and then obviously, whatever your competitors are doing, or whatever you can find in a paid tool like Ahrefs, Keyword Finder, etc. 5) answerthepublic.com is great for article ideas/seo too

I would just google "jewelry blog", take the top 10-30 results, analyze the relevant keywords from the blog posts on each site to see if I could find sub-niches + specific keywords that have lower competition AND are applicable to what I'm selling in my store, and go from there.

A sub-niche I personally feel has great potential is energetic jewelry, e.g. jewelry that can change a person's energy field to effect healing, or attract wealth/health/love/whatever else. For example this:

This stuff must be crazy cheap to produce. The inherent value is close to zero. People are buying them for the potential energetic benefits.

Sorry to get off topic a bit - but if you're not covering this subniche already and considering expanding your inventory, this would be another idea.

I did a quick analysis in ahrefs for you, looks like there are 2 major groups of KWs when it comes to jewelry.

The first one is the brands, check the screen below:



The second one, with way lower volume, are "how to" KWs, check screen:



The branded KWs will be way harder to rank for, check the "KD" parameter... the higher it is, the harder to rank for it.

Targeting the "how to" KWs would make more sense for blog posts too, but you could also do some lists of popular jewelry and list some products from several brands. I'm not sure how well this traffic would convert with a competing product, since those looking for pandora jewelry are likely looking to buy just that, but you can try.

When it comes to KWs like "jewelry blog" there is literally not volume at all.

I got three brilliant ideas from the stm elite! I'm happy I posted the question here. I have access to frase that spits out a lot of questions that people asked on quora and reddit that @jack_i suggested, besides have appsumo LTDs for keyword research tools. But my brain froze when I thought of a blog on a topic as vague as jewelry! @vortex and @matuloo thank you very much for the brilliant ideas. I have noted in my journal about the energetic jewelry. They sell REALLY well. I remember watching a youtube ad where someone spoke a rags to riches story on how his life changed after using a particular energetic jewelry. I could tell that single ad made a FORTUNE. @matuloo thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking all the pain to do the research. I don't have AHREFs at the moment but will plug them into my keyword research tools I have. But here's the crux... there are too many keywords in this niche that are super low competition and reasonable to high traffic, which is awesome! @vortex I have something off topic to share too... remembered it when I thought of noting down your energetic jewelry idea in my journal. Yes, it's about journals! My three day virtual mastermind with Tony Robbins ended this morning with his $10,000 upsell for his next event. Love him despite that. I got into the habit of journaling because of him and his partner Dean Graziosi. It's helping indeed!

Yup, there are many And keep in mind that the list is far from complete, there are 1000s of related long tails KWs that they couldn't detect from one reason or another.

A technique I've shared in another post from a few years ago, which has helped me a TON, is this:


Step 1 - Write down a question.

Step 2 - Blank out your mind with the intention of allowing answers to come in, thereby switching to "receiving" mode. Wait until inspiration comes in. If you're really stuck, go do something else before proceeding to the next step.

Step 3 - Write down the answers that come to your mind.


When we're asking a question, our brain is focused on the problem. When we switch to receiving mode, we allow our minds to come up with solutions.

I've come up with a lot of very good guidance that when I read it, couldn't believe it came from my mind. This is a wonder way to access your subconscious - or, if you're extremely open-minded and can believe this - one of the easiest ways to tap into divine guidance.

Great idea @matuloo on sharing keyword stats!

Thanks to a good friend, I have free and unlimited access to a tool that normally charges by usage. I've taken the liberty of grabbing some keywords for energy jewelry for you as well, in case they may be useful:

Also: KD isn't included though unfortunately - I could run in depth keyword analysis on selective keywords if you don't currently have a good keyword analysis tool. I obviously can't do that for all 300 keywords, but would be happy to do say 20-30. (Anything more and you'd probably want to get your own keyword tool anyway.) The detailed keyword analysis looks like this:



This is a niche I'm planning on going into myself. I'm an energy healer so the energy infusion part is covered. If you're not a healer you can easily partner up with one, and they don't even need to physically touch the jewelry, as energy is not limited to distance. They only need to set the intention and send the energy - this can be done through zoom.

And - if you can find someone that knows about crystals as well (or you could just take a udemy course to get a fundamental knowledge) - cha-ching! Different crystals are good for different things. You can also come up with different combinations of crystals - like in that pendant we talked about. Another example is orgone pyramids:



IMO this niche is far from saturation. Times are difficult and lots of people are looking to change their energy. Of course not every seller is ethical - many are just selling junk that doesn't have any energy benefits. But even then, often times there'd be a "placebo effect" that would take place. When people believe something works, they hold positive expectation, which can be very powerful in manifesting good outcomes.

Now look at this jewelry forum. You will see that, as @vortex spotted with her KW analysis, most of the threads are asking about used rings, or how to fix them... They probably won't read an article when buying.

I would say that if what you sell has a technical component with complexity, writing blog to help people understand it and, then find your store through the blog will help you. If it's purely emotional, you better create nice pinterest boards with enticing viral photos to create emotion and drive traffic. That will be free and faster. You can still drive free traffic writing blog posts, but indirectly, by creating a PBN (private blog network) to raise your site in the ranking.

@vortex I have been interested in meditation and related areas. Maybe I've a read a book or two about crystals decades back when I wasn't interested in money or at least selling crystals to make money. I remember it was through a book on Reiki by Paula Horan. But now I don't want to get in to Reiki again as I got into it when I was gullible, in bad shape, and just wanted to improve my mental and/or physical health. I never imagined crystal could be such a huge market and thought it would be fiercely competitive anyways. Surely it isn't!
There were seven udemy courses in my cart and now I am adding an eighth one for crystals and completing the purchase today. Strangely enough the courses on crystals on udemy are the best sellers. Other topics like dating don't sell at all there!! Even though they do well in places like clickbank.

I personally don't use crystals a whole lot. I just think they're pretty and buy sparingly, not for their powers but for aesthetics. Reiki is powerful, and I have experienced a few "miracles" using this modality. I'm not sure you could learn reiki from a book - you'd need attunements to tap into this universal energy. Maybe one day you'll be inspired to give it another chance.

I'm avoiding sourcing or business within India at the moment to avoid tax complications. But surely it's in my roadmap. I went for second degree attunements twice. It didn't help much. In India it was a big business and I was too gullible. And yes, it has worked for many. I gave me temporary relief then, especially when I would just listen to anybody and everybody. Now I willl listen to 1 percent and ignore 99 percent. Just like I brushed aside Tony Robbins until now even though I heard of him ages back, who knows... Reiki may suddenly work for me! But the problem is why would I go for it in the first place?! I mean as long as I am physically and mentally healthy. And my current meditation and physical exercises, journal writing are good enough to reach my other goals.

Yes, let's meet sometime here in India or maybe some part of the globe.

Just curious what's the key topic of this niche? I'm totally not familiar with the spirituality niche and there seems to be lots of sub categories like numerology, crystal healing, astrology, etc..

What'd be the main topic of this crystal healing that's broad & narrow enough to rank asap and possibly expand into other subcategories down the line?
I briefly searched on MOZ and the metrics of energy jewelry(201-500 Monthly Volume), crystal healing (6.5k-9.3k/mo 58 KD) aren't too impressive.

What'd be a good monetization plan - affiliate or ecom? if the latter, then what'd be a good way to source good, authentic products?


Also wondering what'd good traffic sources for this category, and what are the Don’t’s when running FB ads?
Seems these products are advertised for all kinds of benefits like good wealth, health, relationships which seem risky in terms of FB ads policy.

Lots of long-tail phrases to target.

I've seen affiliate programs for money amulets and the like. Selling your own products would be more reliable. Go to alibaba (or any wholesalers lists) and do searches - the list of keywords above should be a great start.

As I've mentioned above, you can choose to infuse the products with energy, or not. Depends on whether you even believe in this stuff in the first place, and how far you're willing to go to ensure customer satisfaction.

As for running on FB: I have the same suspicions as you. This product for instance - they ARE making claims that their products have healing powers and can balance chakras, protect against EMF (BTW yet another VERY popular niche right now), and relief stress and anxiety:

They've been running ads for several months now (at least). I suspect they may be running on an agency account. That seems to be the only reliable/safe way to run on FB at scale these days.

What some people would do is run campaigns to build a following, like an FB group, and THEN sell merchandise within the group. That would be the safer way to go, but not really something that can be done at scale in a hurry.

Disclaimer here is that I haven't actually started selling this type of product yet. Yes I've done some initial research, and yes I'm quite educated in energy healing, but I'll have to leave the actual implementation for you guys to figure out.

And of course, I'll continue to be available for brainstorming.
