Questions Needed for STM Mobile Webinar.

Ola!

We are going to host a mobile Webinar in Feb. With Jumptap, an Angry Russian and yours truly.

However it's up to you guys to choose the specific topics!

So please comment below on any topics you want covered, or any mobile specifics questions you want answered.

You ain't gonna find a panel with more experience/anger/charm.

Fire away please! More detailed the better!

Hey Green,

Cool to see that you guys are incredibly proactive here! I think Angry Russian explained things in preeeeeeetttyy damn good detail in his guide. I'm pretty new to mobile and though my background is with social and dating, I think something particularly useful would be ways to go about marketing different types of offers like stackman is doing right now with the bestbuy thing. He provides example creatives, his landers, etc. Stuff like that definitely gets my creative juices flowing. So off the top of my head, ideas on promoting...

-Ringtones
-Dating
-Whatever niches you guys have had success in running

Also... maybe a mini guide on building mobile LP's, I think stackman is just using simple html to build his?

I'll post again, my brain is f'd from making campaigns all day.

Awesome feedback mate. Will take note.

Mobile CRAZYYNESSS in February!

@kfeng you pretty much only want simple HTML for your mobile landers because you need it to load FAST!

Mobile is still quite small right now, and not all offers convert ..i think it'll be cool for Alex to talk about some offers doing well in the mobile space for a mix of countries.

Depending on the rep from Jumptap, have them discuss how much mobile has changed in the past 4 months with the influx of new advertisers and shitty affs flooding traffic sources. It tightened up a good bit.

Tracking an Ad, keyword, conversion, etc is a challenge with mobile, what techniques & strategies to your recommend?

Could your give a run down of paid mobile traffic sources?

Can we get Pay Per Call into Apps, like www.poynt.com ?

At ASW the CEO of Freespee.com spoke of GEO targeting to down to the a few city blocks, what's the state of GEO targeting & how is this done?

I saw Jumptap had different type of click campaigns.. like some were click to call, some were urls, etc -

so how does this work and how to optimize.

02-01-2012 07:16 AM #8 happycanadian (Member)

- What type/aspects/verticle does a campaign need to work on App traffic?

- What kind of innovations does Jumptap have in the works? Which countries is Jumptap focusing on for expansion?

02-01-2012 07:03 PM #9 Mr Green (Administrator)

Keep the questions coming guys!

02-01-2012 07:49 PM #10 ppvnewbie (Member)

Why does JT requires that you spend 200 bucks a day until you can block sites, that sucks and makes it hard to optimize...

Question To JumpTap:

Why can't you make the blocking of Pubs. self-serve as well???

landing page design tips and best practices.
Do we design for portrait vs landscape?

02-01-2012 10:51 PM #13 leeches (Member)

Is it good to bid high when starting a new mobile campaign to ensure you see good range of pub ID's? For example, yesterday I ran a new campaign which had one pub ID that made almost all of the revenue and got a good amount of the clicks. So far today, the same campaign has made almost no money and the main publisher from last night is getting no clicks which I assume means no traffic based on yesterday's results.

One thing Angry Russian didn't cover was running coreg on mobile, it seems like that could be a tutorial in it of itself, but maybe a "primer" in coreg would be cool!

THIS..... stackman mentioned earlier to use simple html, I'm in the process of building my first LP and I'm going to hop over to the sprint store to see how it shows up. But.... just a few questions that come to mind:

1. Can't use prosper, so how can I pass the subid variable through so that it carries over into the network?
2. Proper hosting? We get click loss from using prosper, so I'd really like to know some "best practices" when hosting mobile LPs.

I dunno, maybe I'm just overthinking this.

What kind of budget should be allocated to testing a $9 payout offer on a network like Jumptap? It's probably just my rep over there, but she wants me to keep feeding the slot machine to "get more data" before any sort of optimisation.

Can you please tell us how to make a profit with this particular brand of cell phone?

02-02-2012 08:03 PM #18 Mr Green (Administrator)

@kfeng - What did you mean by a primer?

Just like an intro in terms of how to run coreg, I'm assuming its pretty code heavy so I wouldn't expect a full out tutorial

Good question!

^ This.
And my second most important question.... ^This again.

@Mr Green during webinar:

From what I understand you focus on making one really successful campaign and then holiday it up like casino royal on steroids(http://mobaffblog.com/5-things-i-learned-from-mr-green/). I am starting to get the hang of this gig and have asked my directional drilling company to let me work month on month off. Now I know it's obviously possible to do this in a month, but over your years, on average, how long for you, and how many different campaigns do you test in this affiliate "jam session" of yours. (Include any relevant details that I didn't directly ask please )

02-03-2012 05:38 PM #23 Mr Green (Administrator)

^^ Alright this twill be answered.

Any recommended mobile traffic source for adult dating campaign? As according to my rep, there is less adult traffic on JumpTap

02-09-2012 11:26 PM #25 Mr Green (Administrator)

Any more questions guys? I'm about to announce the webinar and get started on the content.

Last chance!

Cool, first thanx guys to putting this up, people here and from Jumptap. I'm looking forward to this.

- JT: What is the benefit of tracking JT_PUBLISHER if you can track JT_SITE. beyond the obvious, I'm trying to save a tracking variable here, plus, if you block a publisher and the pub putting on a new site, you wont see his new traffic ?
- JT : How Daily budget impact allocations/impressions, Ctr*Bid and daily budget/campaign budget ?
- JT : Android phones selection, is the list regularly updated ? will it be soon ?

- Frequency cap, what value is best to start and when scaling. Could you explain strategy ?
- Blackberry phones, any advice on what to promote to them ?
- Could you do a quick recap of all available OS ? I'm still confused if a MIDP or Symbian are features phones, or if some symbian can be smart phones ...etc...

Cheers
Stephane

Please discuss targeting and tracking.

- What are some ways to zero in on any given demographic?

- Where to even start for targeting. For example a basic email submit on mobile: where do you even begin as far as knowing whether or not ATT vs Verizon users are better? iPhone vs Android? Smartphone vs. feature phone? Which category to go for?

There are SO many possible options- all of which fail to tell you anything about the end user for the purpose of selling something. Obviously TESTING but it seems like it would take a ton of time and money testing each of these options or combination of options to *hopefully* find something worthwhile.

There's got to be a better way, or my newb ignorance is causing me to overlook something

Not sure if per per call gonna be covered. But I'm trying to do that on the google search network, but always being hammered with low quality score. Cool if he could briefly mention strategies on how to deal with that.

What are the best traffic sources to scale of you have a successful camp?

I would appreciate if you could share your best practises for mobile list building.

02-19-2012 07:35 PM #32 hmate9 (Member)

Yes, pay per call sounds very attractive. Can you cover that too

02-24-2012 05:18 PM #33 rock (Member)

Tips on using the push SMS features on networks like jumptap. My trials with it sucked.

Is there a vertical where that is more successful?

02-25-2012 10:25 AM #34 nissangtr (Member)

How to get more traffic on JT besides cloning.

02-25-2012 05:15 PM #35 shoent (Member)

take your cpc campaigns to cpm, or get your good pubs and try to buy out the inventory on that pub, you can do a standard IO on those sites, just make sure you know your metrics
