Where to start.. I am confused. (6)

Hello guys. myself ankur from India..I have joined this community to learn and earn from affiliate marketing. Working on niche selection and then after will launch my site, but after reading lots of topics and guides on this forum, i m bit confused as this forum seems to be for already earning affiliate marketers. Can anyone guide to how to start affiliate marketing and atleast earn single penny. m kind of full noob

Hey Ankur! Nice to see you here.

You should start with Newbie Zone board - this is knowledge base for beginners.

First, try to follow along a 1$ guide:

This tutorial will help you to get first campaign up and running.

Later on, after finishing it you could start Amy’s 40 day guide that explain basic components of affiliate marketing campaigns in details.

Newbie zone board is your friend. It’s packed up with valuable threads that are must-reads really to avoid making serious mistakes.

To speed up learning process I advise you to create follow along where you could post your progress and ask questions. People here are really welcoming and are willing to help you to resolve any issues.

Thanks plutus for replying. however i am still confused. Before joining this STM forum, the only process of earning through affiliate marketing of what i think was to pick niche, create blog, write 20-50 blog post with money making keywords and adding affiliate links within that, But at this forum, all are behind popads, mobipium, volumm etc.of which i have never heard off ever and even don't know what these are. Please guide me accordingly. I want to learn but atleast i should know that how can i earn from running ads without creating my own blog or is it blackhat way of earning ?......Please guide.

As far as I understand correctly you are thinking about SEO way of promoting offers. I’m fairly new to AM myself ane I think more experienced folks could tell you more about it and if its still valid way to promote. Calling out @matuloo , @twinaxe

STM is nowdays mostly focused on promoting offers using paid traffic. Difference in paid traffic compared to SEO is that you are not hosting blog with articles but landing pages targeted to certain type of offer(s).

In SEO you received traffic (page visits) when people searched for something and found out your website based on keywords.

In paid traffic you receive traffic (page visits) when you set up campaign in one of the TRAFFIC SOURCES. You are paying for page visits of real people from the country you select. Campaign point users to your landing page where you can presell offer to visitor and convince him/her to convert on the offer page itself.

Key difference is that in SEO you had less visits but of people that searched for something already (keywords) so blog posts did the job.

On the other side in paid traffic you get significantly more visits (the more you pay the more you get) but consisting of people that not that much interested in your offer itself (popups), got to the landing page by some kind of misleading message (push - one reward is pending...), or are to some kind of degree intrigueed by the ad image/heading and click it (native, push). Different traffic types require slightly different approaches. You need to catch someone’s attention and convince him/her to convert on the offer page

If it comes to services that you mentioned, it’s a bit of complicated.

There are Afilliate Networks (offers), Traffic Sources (paid traffic), Tracker (tracking of campaigns)

All those services are there to make your work more comfortable, you got it all covered in beginners tutorials so give it a try to get better understanding. 1$ guide is your goto tutorial if you want to learn how to work with paid traffic.
