Mobile Offers

Hi all seniors,

I am quite new to affiliate marketing and am looking to get into mobile offers. First of all, what type of traffic works best for sweepstakes, gaming, and dating?

My handler tells me popunder and popup ads don't work anymore for these type of offers and told me to run FB, push, display banner, and social traffic. If I were to run these where would I be able to buy these types of traffic? Handler also told me to run native ads (Taboola/outbrain) -- Are they much more expensive and would they work for mobile offers?

Which type of mobile offer and traffic source would you recommend a newbie to get into first? I have no idea which offer/traffic source to choose. Thank you in advance for all your inputs, it is highly appreciated!

Hey @spaceboy, first of all - good luck!
Yes, these types of ads work usually best on push traffic, although we did have advertisers who tried them on pop and had good results.
It's basically up to you to test and see.

Thanks for your input and advice am2015! Sweepstakes on pop works as well?

POP traffic does work with several offer types, sweeps included. It's not as hot as it used to be couple years ago, but it can still work just fine.

Your AM suggests the other type of traffic most likely because they are known for producing better quality leads... especially FB/social traffic or native. POPs and PUSH are usually on the lower end, when it comes to quality, so it's more frequent to get kicked from an offer by the advertiser.

On the other hand, POPs and PUSH traffic are quite cheap, so it's easier to start with them as you don't need large budgets. On top of that, it's VERY easy to get banned by FB, especially when running standard affiliate offers. Native is known for higher click prices and because of that, it can be challenging to run low payout offers there.

In the end, there is no "best" path to take here, all of them can work if you manage to learn how to master them. For the time being, I would suggest you start with either POPs or Push since you are new to the game. Once you gain some experience, you can decide whether to stay with them or move to other traffic types.

Thanks for your input. Will I get banned from my network if I send POP and PUSH traffic (low quality traffic) to sweepstakes and or other offers? Thanks

As long as the traffic is legit and you do not commit fraud, you shouldn't get banned. What happens in most cases is that your AM will ask you to stop sending traffic to the offers where advertisers are not happy about the quality or they will lower your payout per lead on said offers.

In extreme cases, especially when your lead quality is poor on all offers you try in a short period of time, the network might decide not to work with you and ask you to stop traffic completely.

Understood. Thank you for your detailed reply. I have also heard about cloaking, what is that and should I be doing cloaking on my first several campaigns? Thanks again!

Cloaking is basically showing a different landing page to the user and to the moderator/reviewer from the traffic sources, when you want to promote something not authorized (for example adult offers on Facebook). You need specific softwares for that. See more info here:

I would not do that. They are plenty of offers that do not need cloaking, which are better to start with.

Hi! I’m Carlo and I work for Creative Clicks in Amsterdam. I am looking for people to give traffic to our in-house campaigns! Would you be interested to have a talk? Thank you

Jeremie explained it clearly, so no need to get more into it. I also agree with him when it comes to whether you should do it or not... it's not necessary, there are offers that are perfectly fine to be promoted in a clean whitehat way... cloaking CAN be more lucrative as it opens some new "doors" but it requires quite a solid setup and it's not exactly newbie friendly. On top of that, sources like FB are getting better and better at catching it, which will result in tons of lost ad accounts.
