Chatbot facebook messenger marketing

Hi! I just watched this awesome training by Larry Kim about using chat bot funnels as part of our marketing.

How do you suggest using this strategy with affiliate marketing?

Thank you!

Arie

I guess he used some examples in the speech, right? That could be one way of getting inspiration.

But anyways, chatbots are not suitable for every business type.

I'm sure you've seen them in action on many sites already.

From my experience, there are several ways of utilizing a chatbot.

For example:

Companies that provide support to their customers are using chatbots to pre-filter the requests. Let's say they sell a wide range of products, so instead of training every support person to know everything about all their products, the chatbot asks a few pre-defined questions that help them determine what specific product range the customer needs help with, then direct them to a specific support person who is knowledgeable in the particular niche.

Another one:

There are specific questions being asked over and over, so the chatbot is coded to "know" answers for these questions and tries to help the client, before handing them over to a real person.

Automated sequences:

The chatbot tries to talk to a customer when it detects a long on-site time. I've seen a pretty advanced bot on some eshop, it was monitoring the products I browsed and started to give me tips on what other products to take a look at and the sequence ended with a discount code offer.

The chatbot is like an employee with limited knowledge and chatting abilities, so in order for it to work properly, you need to identify repetitive behavior formulas and "train" the bot to address them. In most cases, the chatbot is there to engage with the customer, offer some advice, FAQ etc... in order to keep them interrested for a longer period of time. Or it's used to go through an automatic sequence that aims at closing a sale. So similar to an email sequence.

Hard to say how you could utilize it, since I don't know what business you are in. Maybe if you can tell us more about what you plan to do, we could be of more assistance.

Here's a case study on how to use chatbots to run contests:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...764-in-one-day

Major note: FB has updated their policies on how and when we can message our messenger lists. There have been more than one major updates since 2019 - for details please see this article:

https://chatbotslife.com/the-faceboo...t-5a2ec6ff08b8

So basically, we can only send messenger subscribers promotional content within 24 hours after they subscribe, OR within 24 hours of the last time they replied to our message (manual or automated). After the 24 hours, if we want to send promotional messages to subscribers, we'll have to pay (like how we'd pay to run any other FB ad).

There are exceptions to this rule: The 3 tags.

Tag #1 — Confirmed Event Reminder
✅Upcoming event or appointment that user has RSVPd for. Reminder or confirmation of an appointment.
✅3 part series mastermind is covered by this tag, but random weekly Facebook Lives are not. For example, people have purchased a course, and the Facebook Live is part of the course, you can use the Confirmed Event Reminder tag, but no replay message is allowed.

Tag #2 — Post-Purchase Update
✅ Confirmation of transaction, such as invoices or receipts
✅Notifications of shipment status, such as product in-transit, shipped, delivered, or delayed
✅ Changes related to an order that the user placed, such credit card has declined, backorder items, or other order updates that require user action

Tag #3 — Account Update
✅A change in application status (e.g., credit card, job)
✅Notification of suspicious activity, such as fraud alerts
Here's where you can find the official policies on FB: https://developers.facebook.com/docs...iew#new_policy

The contests thread I linked to at the start of this post can STILL be done under the new policy - just announce the winner using Tag #1 - Confirmed Event Reminder tag.

Another VERY good tip from the chatbotslife article I linked to above, is to collect the subscriber's email right away:

If you’re sending outside of the 24-hour window, add some conditions to send and email or SMS or trigger a Zap to send an email individually, and direct your subscribers back to your chatbot. This will restart the 24-hour window. (By law, you must ask permissions for email and SMS.)

Always ask for your subscribers’ email address within the bot. Facebook has no dibs on your email list ﹘ it will be a list that you own.

Let me show you an example on how to collect emails via messenger:

The email is automatically detected and shown by the chatbot - it's just the FB user's email (their FB login email). All the subscriber needs to do is click on that email.

One crucial piece you'll need to ask around about, or test to find out (at the risk of losing accounts), is whether FB allow affiliate links to be sent through messenger. I've never needed to do this so have no idea.

One last tip: If you want to do some spying on how people promote messenger links, using FB spy tools, do a search on "redirect path" for "https://m.me". (BTW - this FB spy tool is free for a limited time to a limited number of users if you want to test it out: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...or-STM-Readers)

Hope I've given you enough to get started! You'll still need to plan out different flows and test them yourself though. Maybe other members will enlighten us with more insight.
