I just finished a new blog post on SEHabitat, covering how I got Google to revoke my manual spam penalty they had applied previously.

http://sehabitat.com/blog/remove-goo...-spam-penalty/
My blog on SEHabitat is new, so please add your thoughts/comments/questions there if you want to help me out.
CLIFFS:
1. Google axed my site
2. I reviewed it myself and took action to improve in unique ways
3. I submitted a reconsideration request without directly mentioning any penalty.
4. My penalty was revoked and my traffic is at an all time high.
nice one. i had the same issue.... was ranking on page 1 for a big term.... with a squeeze page. they did a panda update on aug.... got axed.... took 3 months but got it back.... added branding graphics, navigation and terms/privacy etc. and it was reapproved shortly after... and i submitted 3 requests.
I didn't know we can submit a request to get a manual review on your site.. is there a link for that?
its the re-inclusion request in your google webmaster account.
i submitted 3 (with changes to the site each time) to get it back.... and it took 3 months... so dont expect anything overnight.
i THINK i got axed for doing profile blasts... which triggered a manual review, they see my simple squeeze page.... with no content or links (there were but they were blended into the footer).... and boom they axed it.
lol dude.. you misread my post.... the homepage was a squeeze page... not the whole site LOL
What exactly happened when Google axed your site?
Did it move from front page to somewhere deeper like page 14?
Or,
just disappear from top 1000?
Good job OP but I have a few questions too. How exactly did you know it was a penalty (and not just a huge devaluation of your links)?
And also what is that slick slide in form with the facebook/twitter buttons?
