Hello, wanted to create a follow along for the $1 guide...
I followed everything from setting up my pop ads account to my mobipium account. I launched my campaign and started to optimize.
1. First round of testing, I set the bid at $.0004 and I the budget at $3. I ran the reports and cut the countries that received 3 conversions and were negative profit...
2. I reran the campaign with the updated countries with a $3 budget. This time, I decided to start cutting websites...I modified the campaign to include only websites that gave me a positive return. It seems the campaign still ran other websites besides the ones I included....
3. I reran the same campaign and tried to include the best websites again, and the campaign still ran to other websites...I am using "include" instead of excluding the websites...should I be excluding? Because it seems include does not limit the campaign to specific websites...
4. I then cut the rest of the non performing countries and reran for another $3....
5. After $16 spent, I only had a few profitable countries with 1 conversion each....please see the screenshot below...let me know if you have any feedback
6. I decided to create a duplicate of this campaign with all of the original countries, but I changed the bid to .0002. I am rerunning now for another $3....any comments or help is appreciated
My settings were something like this...I already modified my campaign so it was a little different

So I started a new campaign and ran it for another $3 with the original set of countries but a lower bid $.0002, im seeing two countries that have a positive ROI, one with 4 conversions, one with 8 conversions. Should I create two separate campaigns, one for each country?
Something seems off here, im seeing 33 conversions but my ROI is -%90? Shouldn't this be positive ROI?
Date/Time Country Impressions Rate Cost Conversions Conv. value Profit ROI Conv. rate eCPA
2020-03-13 XXXXXX 6,651 $0.20 $1.33 36 $0.13. -$1.20 -90% 185 $0.04
Oh, I was confused because I thought conv value was per conversion, so when I saw 36 conversions, I multiplied that by the eCPA, but it seems that the two main stats to look at are cost and conv value,
I ran this for what seemed to be a profitable country but it seems the ROI is negative for this country. What if I don't have any positive ROI countries left after spending $25, should I go back and choose a new offer and restart the test? How much should I spend to see what will consistently work and what won't work? Is the best method to start with all countries, then pick the profitable ones after $10, then run separate campaigns for the profitable countries seperately, then eliminate the non performing websites for those countries?
Nice first campaign @dadvolod! And you got some conversions which is always a confidence booster for a new affiliate!
Several thoughts:
1)How many geos did you target originally? Did you test all geos that are allowed by the smartlink? If not, you have the option of testing those geos you haven't tested yet.
2)Of the countries you've tested, were there geos that didn't spend enough money for you to assess its profits potential? I'd run at least 10-20x payout's worth of traffic to see how many conversions I get, then decide whether I want to spend more. Please feel free to post some stats to go over together.
3)" Is the best method to start with all countries, then pick the profitable ones after $10, then run separate campaigns for the profitable countries seperately, then eliminate the non performing websites for those countries?" <--- That's as good a method as any, but it isn't the ONLY method. 10 affiliates will have 10 methods for testing and optimization. Try anything that you can think of, that makes sense to you, and just see what happens, and go from there. The more you test, the more experience you have. It would be much better to test different things for offers with such tiny payouts, because then you'd only need to spend a little bit of money to collect a decent amount of data, from which you can learn useful lessons and make useful observations. For offers with bigger payouts, you'd need to spend a lot more to learn similar lessons.
4)It would be good to treat this type of campaign as a fun exercise and an opportunity to learn for cheap, rather than a money maker. Have fun with it, learn what you can, then move onto the 40-day tutorial which will show you how to use a tracker and landing pages to presell offers. After that, you'll have a solid foundation on which you can learn other types of traffic besides pop.
Have fun - looking forward to seeing future updates from you!
