Direct Linking- for Mobile Content, Installs(CPI)?

Hi Everyone,
I just joined STM today.
I had downloaded and worked with Vortex's $1 guide. And it really worked for me in the first try. On first day I made $5 profit with Mobipium smartlink. $10 the next day. But then smartlink changed payout structure, so it was hard to be profitable.
Anyway, then I started trying other Carrier offers(mobile content). But wasn't much profitable.

I haven't used landers till now. I have only direct linked. I made some small conversions here and there, but nothing much converted. Also tried Mobidea offers, but not much conversions. Only conversions I got are for low payout- maximum 21 cents.
I had tried 45 cent, $1, $3 offers also but nothing converted.
Even to get 10-20 cent conversion is also a struggle.
Smartlink conversions were relatively easy- 3 cent,4 cent, 5 cent etc.

I thought if I run 10 cent offer direct link- they should convert, but they don't. So i am wondering if the problem is with traffic source- do the Pops do not convert anymore- and do I need to try Push just now. Anyway I am using PopAds- it was converting well with smartlink. Actually I wanted to master Pops first, before trying Push, but it seems Pops doesn't convert at all- I even wonder- if these 100s of sweeps, dating offers- do they convert at all- or 95% offers are just useless/fake? At least it seems impossible to convert them with Pops.
Actually, I have only run the best offers, Mobidea has good stats- but nothing seems to convert for me(except smartlink, which is not steady either). So please help me to understand what really is going on in this scenario. Thanks

I already answered this in the other thread you started, so no need to repeat myself here again : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ing-Popads-How

POP traffic still works for sure, it's on a steady slow decline for a few years now, but it's gonna stay for a few more for sure. PUSH is a rather new format used by affiliates, so it performs better right now. Then again, many affiliates moved from pops to push which means less competition in pops now ... the call is yours to make

As I mentioned in the other thread, the right LP is crucial with POPs, since it's the only selling point. With push, you also have the AD itself to presell a bit, but a solid LP is also required in most cases.

@matuloo has already said a lot of what I wanted to say, in terms of answering your questions.

Mobipium's push smartlink was meant to be a good way to introduce newbies to paid traffic campaigns, because:

-You can invest very little money.

-You are almost guaranteed to get conversions.

However, it's not very scaleable - because many pop networks don't allow this type of of link to be promoted. Plus, there isn't a lot of optimization you can do easily unless you use a tracker - and if you do use a tracker, the costs would seriously eclipse any profits you stand to make with the push smartlink.

So - now that you've had your first taste of running campaigns, it's time to learn this business "for real". Direct-linking to offers using a tracker would be the next step - but don't dwell there! Run 1-2 offers direct-linked just to learn tracking. After that, move onto landers and learn how to test lots of offers and landers in an efficient manner. That's one of the main keys to excelling at this game.

Yes, running offers direct-linked (without landers) is easy, and running the push smartlink is easier. But don't be complacent - keep moving forward. Those were just meant to be exercises for beginners and not a means of making any consistent or sizeable profits.

Push traffic would be the next step up. It's similar to pop, except you need to test one more element: The push ad.

For pop it's traffic -> lander -> offer.

For push it's traffic -> ad -> lander -> offer.

So what you can do is use pop traffic to test landers and offers to find a good combination, then run that on push traffic and just test ads.

However, there are offers with higher payouts (e.g. credit card submits aka cc subs) that typically doesn't convert too well on pop, that are better run on push. So for those, you may want to test with push, not pop.

Lastly: Don't count on ANY single offer to turn out profitable! Do lots of split-testing to find a good offer+lander combination that will get you close-enough to green (e.g. -50% ROI or better, but this would depend on the geo - for example for US which has a ton of traffic, you can start with a lower ROI and cut your way to green and STILL have enough profits left over), and then optimize the rest of your way to green by cutting the unprofitable parts of your traffic.

The 40-day tutorial will explain everything you need to know and more. Plus, I've started working on a beginner's tutorial on Facebook, so stay tuned for that. (No solid ETA, but hoping to have most of it done in 3-4 months.)

Hope that helps!
