New years resolution CAMPAIGNS

Who has them ready? Lets spark some ideas!

New years resolutions are one of the strongest targeting angles you can run. People WANT to change, and it's your job to show them the way to take action.

Gym memberships SOAR in January strictly due to these resolutions, and I've read 50-80% don't continue going even though they've signed up for a year. Gym's capitalize on this even more by initiating an extra signup fee on the 1st day for 'processing'.

You've heard of everyone's new year resolutions, I'll post a top 10 list at the bottom just to get your mind working, but I'm going to focus on 2 of the big ones and show you some possible angles to really get the juices flowing.

1. Losing Weight/Getting Fucking Fit

Think p90x. When you ask most people how they want to lose weight, they won't say with a magic pill, they'll tell you they're going to workout and eat healthier because deep down they know this is the only way. You can try to convince them otherwise which does work (as we all know flogs/rebill sell) but capturing their attention by expanding on what they already know is how to win them over. Tell them what they know and use the magic pill as an upsell. This is why those 300 workout blogs sell so well. Just for the record I'm not saying sell the p90x system, I'm saying use the p90x approach to selling fitness. Relate a the DEAL ($ off, $0 trial, etc..) to new years resolutions and you've got them hooked.

*This bit above comes from lots of experience with male fitness offers.

2. Quit Smoking Cold Turkey

I have 2 friends who have been smoking for almost 10 years, and i hear everything they've ever said about quitting so i know the angles all too well. I can tell you quitting using an e-cigartette is the last thing on a lot of quitters minds. They want to quit slowly or cold turkey and it takes some serious convincing to get them to do so. A lot of it is by putting them in the right mood. For anyone who knows about motivational speakers and how they work, you'll want to follow a similar angle for starting your pitch. Before you even think about selling you need to put the smoker in the right mood, be optimistic and happy. Give multiple solutions so they can choose one they THEY think fits them best. It's your job to make 2 seem like the best fit. Make your whole landing page related to the best methods to quit smoking for new years resolutions.

Don't forget niche new years resolutions, there's tons of things people want to accomplish, some people want to pickup more girls, or just ask out 1, eat less fast food, learn how to surf, list goes on.

Have you ran any great new years campaigns before?

No matter how happy someone is there is ALWAYS something they wish was different or better. Every silver lining has a touch of grey, to quote a dead hippie.

Think about your traffic source. Think about who your target audience is. If you know what they HAVE and who they ARE you can figure out what they WANT. What they want is optimal bait for a new year's resolution campaign.

This works especially well with buying media directly from sites or from exchanges. If you know exactly what site the ads are shown on you can figure out who you're showing them to and tell them how to accomplish their specific "new year's resolution". It's old school marketing. Give the people what they want, and you too can eventually own a Lamborghini.
