Doing affiliate via SEO?

What kind of offers you are promoting via SEO. What is the strategy you are following now-a-days?

I don't run SEO but yesterday had a Skype call with a someone who is running HEAVY on seo since the beginning but even him is now looking to run media buying because it's getting really frustrating and difficult.

Not trying to change your mind just letting you know what I know. I hope someone else can come in here with a few tactics to prove me wrong!!

I don't do SEO myself, but it seems a lot of folks are still doing 'review sites' targeting the Amazon affiliate program (guitar reviews, grill reviews, other high-priced stuff like that), and then there's also definitely still people busting out Clickbank reviews, as I just googled a couple brand new Clickbank products yesterday and already saw a lot of reviews on them.

However, I believe most of the really hardcore SEO's investing big money on PBN's and the like focus more on localized lead-gen and agency work (selling leads to Plastic Surgeon's in Seattle and Hair Implant doc's in Miama and lawyers in Singapore and the like) as it seems that provides more bang for the buck (if I understand right).

Also heard Malan Daras talk about an interesting one he saw... which was a site called 'Joe Rogan recommends" or something like that, where the entire purpose of the site was to do mini-articles on products Joe Rogan recommends or talks about on his podcast. So when someone searches "Joe Rogan protein powder recommendation show 391" or something like that, their site comes up first with an affiliate link.

Also it seems Youtube is the new gold-rush for seo as well, although of course that gets into video production and the like too.

But yeah, like I said I've never done seo but those are all some cool areas of it I've heard about or seen as of late

I can attest to what jack_l posted ... in terms of SEO, over the years reviews worked the best, period. Find a niche that has heavy coverage by affiliate programs, so you have tons of stuff to review and get ready to produce tons of content. As longas you can rank it, the money will flow nicely. But yeah, there is a reason for so many affiliates to move into paid traffic, the competition is higher than ever and google got pretty good at detecting BH optimization tricks.

The Great Greg Morrison wrote some posts that summarized how he did SEO around a year ago - AFAIK things haven't really changed since that time:

Hope that helps!

(I'm moving this thread to the SEO section.)

Review sites are the most common.

Globally it's done mostly via Amazon Associates affiliate program, or you can surely find lot of local e-com stores with affiliate programs.

But it's a hard and uncertain way to go, you need to invest upfront in a lot of good quality content, backlinks and wait months to year for solid traffic coming your way.

On the other side you are building an asset that can be easily sold for 30x returns.

Good way would be to make "quick bucks" via paid traffic and then invest your money into something like SEO for longterm.
