Lower CVR on New Ads (16)

Lower CVR on New Ads

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this.

Like I'm sure all of you do, I track each individual ad with it's own subid. For the past week, whenever I create a new ad, no matter what, this new ad yields a CVR that is 2-3x lower than the original ads I've had running for a month now.

I'm talking about my month old ads getting me a 18% avg conversion, and any of my new ads giving a 5-10%. Now I'm sure you'll see say that's because my ad is different, well I even tested this with exact replicas. I submitted replicas of my month old ads half a dozen times, and every single time, those replicas are coming out a CVR 2x lower. This is all while my CTR for them is similar to their originals.

I'm just wondering it anyone else is experiencing it, or if I'm just an isolated incident.

Can't say I've noticed anything of this sort, just recently I killed it with a e-mail submit and I noticed the CVR was WAY higher than usual.

perhaps you are exhausting your current src's... usually the best thing to do is to pause those sources and wait 2-3 weeks, then go live again and you will see them back up.

I've verified this twice myself..

or another time, I have had from one day my CVR's fell 50%, and stayed like that for a week... turns out the advertiser was having email server issues, hence the pixel didn't load on email confirmation...

goodluck mate.

I assumed the same thing, but considering that I was submitting the same ads over again, without any changes, it's completely strange to me as to why those new ones are giving such different results.

also, submitting the same ads causes banner blindness... make sure to change to a new creative set every week. (i usually have 3 different sets per campaign and switch them around, by the time you are done with 1-3, you start with creative 1 and it works like magic!)

also, you might wanna test a similar offer to see difference and ask the advertiser if there is anything fishy going on?

Demo size is 1m, and I'm running a .20% CTR. I mentioned in my initial post that my CTRs on my ads are perfectly fine. It has nothing to do with banner blindness.

How many days the CVR stayed down? Also it's christmas, I'm not on the dating vertical but I would probably expect a drop on conversions at this time of the year.

I have seen this on most new ads I run....the cvr doesn't stabilize for 48hrs or so.....alot of my stuff will start in the teen's % wise then after running for a bit the cvr goes up....most cases to the upper 20's or so....I often see a 5-10% pop in cvr after the 48hr mark.....

I run gaming mostly to a older demo....

so now I don't kill ads for at least 48hr unless the ctr is horrible and I know its not gonna work....

Might just be christmas time, a lot of people are pausing their campaigns until 2012.

Yeah I think it's the time of the year.

My cnvr's are down on my ads the last 2 days. About 2/3 of normal.

On any of my ads that I've had running before December, the CVR is perfectly normal for this month.. Just that any new ads deployed in Dec are giving off low CVR even if I replicate the ads I've ran before Dec. Anyhow, I guess in 2 weeks we should see things back to normal.

mgrunin- Did you see a change in this situation? I am seeing something similar the past 2 days. Exact ads.

Not so much of a problem anymore. The majority of my ads now end up at similar CVR, but every 1 out of 5 still gives me a real low one.

Thanks for getting back. If I see a change over the next few days I will let you know what I find out.
