Running Pheromones on FB?

Hi All -

Am in early stages of developing a pheromone company and of course am very keen to leverage fb as a key traffic source.

In discussions with a potential supplier he told me "pheromones have been banned on fb since '11". The only reason I could think of would be potentially running afoul of "Misleading Content" restrictions, in that one would need to be very careful so as to not overpromise or over-dramatize how effective the pheromone product actually was.

But today, noticed PHEROMONES on tijn's amazing contribution of fb ad disapproval codes .

I'm already trying to work my way up the chain of fb reps to see about a possible whitelist relationship, but this knowledge is making me think the goose is cooked.

Does anyone here perhaps have any more insight into running pheromones on fb?

Otherwise my gameplan is native, adwords, and GDN if I can make it work for acquisition and not just retargeting.

Yeah, I would not put money in getting whitelisted for a banned niche anytime soon, especially latest events with FB.

Some affiliates just do it "the old fashioned way" on Facebook.

Is this product even allowed on AdWords? FB and Google overlap significantly in the ad compliance area.

Doing it the old fashioned way is an option, but without being able to take advantage of an aged pixel and remarketing, roas would probably be better and of course less hassle just running nutra.

Don't see anything in Google tos about them and see others running uncloaked

Oh cool. AdWords is definitely super strong so it makes sense to go that route if it's allowed by them.

Agreed, love the buyer intent. Unfortunately though kw volume is fairly weak. GDN working as an acq platform would be amazing with all that volume.

What do you think about native? I think it'd be a great fit but haven't run native so don't have any sort of feel for it the way I do fb.

Only briefly tested native so wouldn't be able to give good advice unfortunately.

One thing that comes to mind with Facebook that can still be white hat is to figure out legit lead magnets to build a list around your topic, then sell to them on your own terms. It's definitely way more work too though...
