Happy Thanksgiving From Facebook! Account Disabled :(

Really? Like, why are they working on Thanksgiving morning in the U.S.?

This is my ONLY problem with outsourcing -- on a holiday about stuffing myself with food I have to wake up to seeing my accounts disabled Booh on you facebook!

I emailed my rep for the agency account with an email similar to the aggressive email similar to the one mgrunin sent -- this morning -- we will see how that goes.

Pretty annoying though they have axed ALL the weight loss guys on clickbank at this point. Why? We have no (scammy) rebills, no fake before/after, we sell info that really works, I can see the reviewers now -- "we don't like red headlines! It's a scam!"

Anyways, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to my U.S. cats

Ya I just tried to do a 100% legit diet product...via a fan page....

when I say legit I mean its a cps product....and I am working direct with the owner.....the fanpage is boring as hell and is just a product page.....not even really a sales page.....has the address and phone number listed and everything...

It really can't get anymore legit....My ad copy head line was "try {product}" made no promises....just said "kick start your diet".......

they wont approve it even though they say they will.....

Its really just a giant waste of time to even bother trying to run legit diet stuff on FB atm.....

Yea I agree.

It's really frustrating to me. Especially when I see the diet rebill scam offers being advertised there all the time ... or big budget guys like force factor ... and my stuff is damn legit.

And yes, you could just say "product name" and not get it approved. Or you do. Then you can't get a CTR worth anything which is just as bad, lol.

I need me a super ninja facebook affiliate, just one that has the inside at FB HQ and can move in and out of the regulations and rules with deft agility and quickness

A guy can dream can't he ...

That's a kick in the balls

Hopefully you will be able to get it back (doubtful), I emailed them about one of my accounts trying to get a higher budget and have been waiting about 2 weeks... Don't wanna run any affiliate stuff on there until I hear back so looks like it might take a while.

I think they're knee jerk banning at this point due to all the cloaking going on. They just assume everyone is cloaking that's running diet unless you're a white listed vendor.

^ absolutely.

I know people have seen some rebills for a week or so, but this stuff last days right now. There are certain niches during certain times with facebook that you just need to not bother with because facebook is in full gestapo mode!

What is this WHITE LISTED VENDOR you speak of?

I will fly to f*cking palo alto to get on this list.

Maybe like the monks of old I'll sit cross legged outside FB HQ until they let me in and give me what I want, lol.

Seriously. What is this? Just an assumption or you know of this?

ya they've axed all our weight loss campaigns. shut down our account. we do weight loss cpa style offer... (trial and a multipay option).... they shut down the account, we got a new one... but they aren't approving any of the ads.

have a friend on FB who works for FB... she told me when you keep submitting the same ad that gets disapproved over and over your account gets penalized... so that could be a reason why ppl's accounts get banned. she also said you cant promise results. waiting on some more info.

till then our whole operation is kinda in limbo.

where's all the rest of the weight loss dudes getting traffic from these days?

Wow that's awesome, be good to get some inside info about how they work/rate accounts.

Try to find out what the blacklist when they ban accounts and what needs to be new to create another successfully

here's the thread with her.... i'm curious to hear what you guys get out of this.

this is the email we got from FB:

Hi,

Facebook will not tolerate behavior that users may find annoying or abusive, or that violates our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines. You have used the account associated with lotoharry@yahoo.com to submit ads that are explicitly prohibited by our ad policies. Please note that you have been warned more than once in the past. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled.

We will not be able to reactivate your account, nor will you be able to recover any content within the account. You will also not be permitted to create a new account to restart your Facebook advertising. This decision is final.

Thank you for your understanding,

The Facebook Ads Team

she replies:

hey! That makes sense that it's in the weight loss niche. They are ridiculously strict when it comes to that. Ads for weight loss are notorious for getting huge amounts of negative feedback from users . I had a look at your account and it's got a very high offensive index so if you'd had ads disapproved a couple times in the past then i can see why it's closed I guess.

Was this niche profitable for you guys on fb?

Definitely open a new account and start again but the key to weight loss ads on facebook is never use words like overweight or language that makes people feel bad for the weight. it's a tough one as we're totally use to poking at those motivators but those ads will always get disapproved and lead to the same outcome. something more about healthy lifestyle and focusing on the positive will be better.

Happy to get some more pointers for you from some one on a relevant team.

I asked a few more questions, she replied with:

yeah the negative feedback has a big issue but having the same ads disapproved over and over definitely kills things.

Yeah I thought you'd have some dating stuff out there. Unfortunately the dating niche is stricter on fb than weight loss but way back I worked with eHarmony on their fb strategy so I do have a lot of tips for you on how to run dating ads without pissing off policy and standing out from the crap.

So the main thing is your targeting. you MUST target females who are single interested in men, or men who are single interested in females, etc. you can't just do females who are single, you'll keep getting ads disapproved otherwise. The targeting always needs to include single as a relationship status too.

for other targeting attributes you can use them but you can't call them out in the copy unless it is a specific niche thing. so you could target single women in new york with an ad saying 'single in nyc?' if you run a new york only dating site but if your service/product is for sale to the general population then you can't call out nyc. the same goes for interests, if you hve a dating site for people interested in say tennis then it's cool to say it but it will get disapproved if you call it out for a general dating product.

here's how to get around that - use subtle hints in the images. If you're targeting women in nyc, but familiar things in the images, so a happy couple in central park, a woman at the top of the empire state building' or thing that conjure up nyc and that they'll recognize. Same with interests, if you want to target women that like tennis looking for a guy with a similar interest then put a tennis ball behind a cute guy in the image.

success stories do really well in the copy too so any testimonials you have will be great to use.

hope this is helpful!
I've emailed her a few times since but havent heard anything back.... uuuugh.

curious, what you guys got out of that.

^^ good info.

I would deffo ask her about opening a new account though so we know what they look out for, could finally be the answer we all have regard making new accounts and being a 'new' person.

Also ask about ip's if you can and whether any flags come up if you login from ip's associated with banned accounts etc.

dconstrukt, thanks for the share. Solid tips indeed.

12-18-2011 05:22 PM #13 dconstrukt (Member)

we opened up a new one using a vps and new card etc.... same thing you did when your adwords account got banned.... so that worked. (thank justin from 31day fat loss cure for giving me the heads up)... all our ads are being disapproved.

havent heard back from her.

what did you guys make from the email??

12-19-2011 06:25 PM #14 caleb (Senior Member)

I make from the email that she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Seriously. She's just guessing. Ask Justin or any of us weight loss guys if any of our ads called out the user or were negative or violated any of the guidelines at all (there were NO real guidelines anyways until a few months ago for health/fitness -- even after those were posted -- ours weren't violating them, no promise of results -- lose xx pounds, etc)

Anyways, I get from it that nobody knows WTF is going on in other depts' and FB is growing so fast that manual reviewers are all over the world and given INSANE amounts of leeway with using their own judgement instead of judging by strict criteria to dissapprove/approve ads.

we just got a new email from them today... as to why the ads are getting turned down... here's the reply:

Thanks for writing us. Facebook is committed to maintaining a positive
user experience across the site, including ads. We do not allow the
advertisement of content that is purposely misleading, fraudulent, or
harmful to the user. We reserve the right to choose the advertising
we accept, and we will not accept ads for products with these types of
unacceptable business models. We appreciate your cooperation with

I guess they don't like the free trials eh? lol :-(

the email pretty much said it right there.

Gonna try submitting a multioption page and see what happens next.

caleb, i think its cuz you're promoting the ad based off promising results.... which according to them you can't do.... think of FB like a christian, church run daycamp..... your ads gotta get approved by them.
