If you were just starting out again with $1,000 budget, where would you buy traffic from?
I'd like to steer clear of Adwords/Yahoo/MSN.
Thanks!
Mike
I'm guessing you're pretty new to this with the type of question (unless you're just curious which I apologise
)
Personally I would probably hit POF up, I don't do much with them at the moment as I have other things to work on but Ben (who can be found on here) but he will go out of his way to help and get you going. He's dropped some solid info on here, stuff that no other traffic source would do.
*Takes head out of Ben's ass
Ya POF is def where I would look at as well there have been some great case studies here in the forum on POF.....and it prob the best place to learn the game....as they are very friendly to affs....
Great, thanks!
So POF > FB?
I noticed the one case study Mr Green did on POF. But, outside of that is it nothing but dating offers there?
Niche dating on Pof, small adspend good return
Get into the work and don't lurk the forum all day that kills ya progression, the best learning will come from the work itself
but definately POF is the best to start with
easy platform
I've always found FB to be easier for beginners to profit with than POF, mainly because most people's creatives are weak starting out and get junk ctr... however, with how Facebook is being so fukin accommodating as of late (/sarcasm), POF will make your life easier. And nothing wrong with dating, at least it'll always be around (i think).
Wow thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate it.
Also people on POF are there for a reason, you just have to connect with them (niche dating) showing that X is where they need to be.
Like mentioned above if you can go niche and keep the ROI's high with lower spend it will help you down the line in learning the system and to build up cashflow for future campaigns.
In my experience FB results are highly polarized. People either seem to be killing it or not making anything happen at all. POF appears to have a lot more middle ground and is probably more accommodating for newbies. It goes without saying that you should probably avoid very complicated traffic sources like display or mobile.
EDIT: I've never used PPV but I imagine that'd be an equally good source to start with as well.
PPV is not so much a good beginners source, you see when you start out it can take a while to get some profits coming in as most start in the red zone, and waiting for approvals can take days, so its a real motivation killer.
The reason I say POF is because the ads are approved fast, the interface and tracking is really easy do, the adspend can usually be quite small and the ROI is often great as well as good targeting options

I agree with the targeting point. A new marketer can get past poor copy skills by using tight targeting.
