a year of affiliate marketing failures!

Hi folks,

I wanted to start this thread and my first struggle was to find a prefix for it. Is this a case study! a tip! or a campaign guide? I think it is a combination of everything plus failure.

my journey in affiliate marketing started last year in march, before launching campaigns there was a lot of reading and preparation in order to launch in the right way to avoid all newbies mistakes, At least get the tracking right! I knew i won't get profitable in the first months because this is a skill that needs to be developed as you keep working on it.

I started my first campaign in POP traffic. it was a survey campaign on POPADS.Since i was still a little genius , i started cutting placements here and there and whitelisting and changing the lander's headline. I had probably 100 conversions that i didn't use for anything.Next campaigns was the same thing, i get conversions but never knew how to make them profitable.

After posting some follow alongs here on the forum, i have recieved some valuable infos on how to test offers to find a winner because i was getting an offer recommendation from my AM an just keep working on it without testing other things.

Last month i started testing offers , both recommended by my AM and also based on what i saw on adplexity and to my surprise, i was told by my AM that people were running these offers on facebook.

The landers i saw on adplexity were so aggressive and couldn't imagine how people are running it on FB. Then my AM told me that people are cloaking and making tons of money.

I'm so confused right now, because i don't want to cloak, and i don't want to buy ad accounts or do accounts farming because it's not a way to do business and aslo at the same time i want to start making money after a year of just losing. I don't know if Pop traffic is still working or not because i have heard it became so difficult.

this was my journey so far, it's not a sucess story but i'm still going and still aiming at making this work!

where should i go from here!

Pops is getting more and more difficult, but because it is cheap, it is a good way to learn and develop skills. Facebook is definitely worth learning, and it is definitely possible to do extremely well on Facebook without cloaking if you focus on white hat niches.

Hey midsoufi!

First of all, compliments on having the courage to admit your "not so successful" experience - not everyone is able to do that.

Even though your experience might not be the one you expected, I'd focus on the positive side of things. Compared to when you started, you now know quite a lot more stuff.
Also I would suggest taking a moment and make a recap of everything you went through. Tested traffic & offer networks, verticals, targeting & bidding strategies, optimization practices as well as the technical side of things. As a lone player in this industry, sometimes it is pretty hard to continuously deal with everything at the same time, that unfortunately can lead to not so good results.

You already have the required commitment and persistence to succeed in this game, so let's get though all your pain points together and make things better. After all, that is why this community is so awesome!

Cloaking is tempting for almost anyone who's heard of it, some even think that if one's not cloaking is just wasting precious time and money. But that is far from true! And before approaching this option, you might want to consider all the risks involved in such practices.

Even though competition has become tougher than it was before, Pop traffic can still generate good numbers and for this like with every other traffic source you have to be consistent.

Cheers!

I want to echo cmdeal and platinum's comments above:

1)It is definitely possible to make profits on FB without cloaking!

and

2)Yes there are definitely still profits to be made in pop!

The following threads may help:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post336845 (the last part of the post contains links to examples of 100% whitehat camps on FB)

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...500-net-income (profits potential of pop)

Hang in there!
