What about the POP traffic after 15.02?

Im curious what will happen with POP traffic after new google rules? No more Pop traffic from Chrome?

Check out this article: https://www.exoclick.com/how-googles...an-advertiser/
I believe it will still be possible to run pop, but will depend on the offer itself and the type of pop.. here they talk about it too

I think nobody knows for SURE, we need to wait and see what happens. AD networks will come up with some work-around, sooner or later, then we shall see how fast chrome developers react and whether they're gonna release an update to fight it.

A decrease in available POP traffic, at least temporary, is pretty much inevitable though.

Then maybe we will have increase in display's traffic competition. For sure quality traffic will go more expensive. Also I think a lot of cpm networks will go to CPC, because when fake ads dissapear CTR will go down and there will be no profit for them

I think Chervenkov, as a newbie want some direction - As do many new STMers... .

Here is a repost of question i posted that is critical for Newbs.. unfortunately i guess Newbie Zone threads aren't updated in the "latest threads" Section: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-route-to-take

Hey Guys,

I'm having some trouble deciding on what move to make...

I have not found any specific thread or replies aimed towards newbies specifically about Whether to proceed in learning AM with pops right now - and I'm sure many new members are asking this question as well -

Considering ALL previous STM content points newbies to this direction, it would be great to update or at least give some advice on the 2018 Fundamental Steps for newbies.

Are Pops/Redirects/PPV Still recommended for newbies to start? - Even Though these traffic sources are going to be flipped upside down.

What is the latest advice for newbs? - what are some "safe routes" to take ... etc?

Buying into services and setting up for this takes time and money, and I'm sure all the new guys are scratching their heads about what to do...

Personally - I figure there is 3 weeks left to play in the space and try to make something happen. Lot's of time to launch campaigns and complete tutorials...

On the other hand, I haven't bought Adplexity mobile or Invested more than "can be taken back"... It would be great to get leadership to weigh in on what we should do going forward, since we rely on them to point us in the right direction..

This is wrong logic, CPC or CPM ... affiliates/media buyers will only pay as much as they are able to get back from their campaigns. A move to CPC from CPM is not gonna increase the profits of the networks. Lower CTR actually increase the cost of testing new creatives on the CPC model, since they would have to dedicate more impressions to the initial test. CPM model is easier for the networks to work with and the competition will take care of the rest, they will make pretty much the same on CPM as on CPC.

Does anyone know if this might affect the backbutton funnel as well? Anyone can confirm this? Thanks

I'm preparing the "what's working in 2018" post for STM now, and this will be one of the questions covered. Stay tuned.

Also, remember: we won't know exactly what the impact is of the change until after it happens. Look for a lot of rapid clarification and understanding in the week following the change, when we'll actually have hard data.
