I want to compare the age of an account, and bid prices we all see, and lets find out if there's a connection between the 2.
Input the following targeting, and share your bid prices.
Targeting:
> United States
> age 21 - 26
> female
*share the suggested bid thats given to you on the SAME page that you create the ad on.

Brand New Account:
Suggested Bid: 0.39 - 0.69 USD
1,5 month old account:
Suggested Bid: 0.39 - 0.69 USD
8 Month Old Account:
Suggested Bid: 0.20 - 0.35 USD
2 Month Old Account:
Suggested Bid: 0.16 - 0.29 USD
1 Month Old Account:
Suggested Bid: 0.25 - 0.38 USD
4 Years old (tomorrow!) :-)
0.25 - 0.44
I'm thinking the age doesn't have anything to do with it, I'm pretty certain it's mostly due to CTR history
This is from my 2 month old account with a $2k limit, 95%+ approval rating, and very few images that have ever run under 0.1% CTR.
Not Exact Age Match: $0.12 - $0.20
Exact Age Match: $0.13 - $0.21
I really think it's mostly based on CTR, and the status your account is under based on niches you've ran + approval %, but there is no way to track that properly. So I'm mainly wanting to see if we can find some type of proof that newer accounts get good or shitty suggested buds.
3 months old >> 0.43 - 0.71 (not exact age match)
7 Month Old Account
Exact Age Match 14 million
.02-.03
I have used this account for like 95% Fan Pages with really high CTR.
Suggested Bid: 0.17 - 0.32 USD
Like others have said, it has to do with overall CTR, not account age.
Would you actually get 0.02 - 0.03 clicks if you bid around 0.05?
No. I should have mentioned I sometimes have to bid like 10x the suggested max to get any traffic bidding CPC.
Thew thing though is sometimes with this account I bid CPM and get some pretty cheap like .05 clicks. not always though.
Suggested Bid: 0.22 - 0.33 USD
Account was created in 2008 (I think), started advertising in Nov. 2010.
2 day old account
0.19 to .0.33

2 or 3 years old...can't remember on this one.
Suggested Bid: 0.09 - 0.17 USD
That's coming off of being nerfed down to a $500 dollar limit (back up to $2k). Used to be a 30k account.
4 yr old acct, 0.38 - 0.69
2 mo old acct, 0.07 - 0.13
I think the second one might be a glitch because I have to bid in the range of my 4-yr-old account to get any traffic.
1 week old account, with $250 limit -
Suggested Bid: 0.21 - 0.37 USD
Exact age - Suggested Bid: 0.19 - 0.35 USD
not exact age match
this acct is 4 years old but only 5 months old in facebook advertising and total amount I have spent on this acct is under 5k with high approval ratio had some good CTR too
Suggested Bid: 0.10 - 0.16 USD
I usually will have to bid a lot more than the high end suggested bid price to see impressions, so the fb suggested bid just tells me that this is how much you can expect to pay per click IF you have a good CTR LOL
Speaking of accounts . . .
I got my first account banned the on Friday. It was a newly created $50/day account, and I was just plain stupid with it.
I got the "Facebook will not tolerate behavior that users may find annoying or abusive, or that violates our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines. You have used the account to submit ads that are explicitly prohibited by our ad policies. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled. This decision is final." email.
Today, I got another email that said, "Thank you for being a trusted Facebook Ads user. We have reviewed your account and increased the spend limit on your Facebook Ads account to $250.00."
LOL . . . I'm still locked out.
2 Month Old Account
Not Exact Age - Suggested Bid: 0.08 - 0.15 USD
Exact - Suggested Bid: 0.08 - 0.13 USD
Ballin?
Unfortunately though the suggested bids, as far as I am aware, have very little to do with how much you actually have to bid to get traffic. I never get much traffic at the suggested bids, unless it's a pretty uncompetitive demo, and I haven't seen much of a change in the bids I need over the last 4 months that I've been advertising to the same demo's.
In the end Facebook wants money so they probably don't care whether you're new or old, just how much you'll pay for a click.
win the auction.....get traffic....
3 year old high ctr acct.

dummy account 3-4 months old, 2 small loss making campaigns run

A good case study would be to have a campaign ran across multiple campaigns with the same bid/demo/ad to see if the ones with lower suggested bids are actually favoured.
Almost 6 months

Im kinda jelly of the accounts showing less costs per CPC then me. Age, money spent, day limit, and account type must not mean very much.. truly must be all CTR
2 week old account.
Non exact age match.
0.05 - 0.08
how's this relevant if you are not sharing the demography info as well
5 months old:
Suggested Bid: 0.19 - 0.36 USD
I just want to make sure... everyone should be following the demo's mentioned on the first page? Is this happening?
..If so holy crap @ CTR importance!
What basis do people use to set their bids? Is it based on past experience in that specific demo or do you take the actual suggested into account?
It's all 100% CTR based stackman. You can take a brand new account, choose some laser targeting demos to get .50%+ CTR's. Run $100. Check suggestion bids and you'll see it in the 10c range for the demo you listed.
Rich, the higher your accounts 'average ctr' is the lower your starting bids need to be. This is my experience anyway.
@htgred
That's pretty golden
Do you see these low suggested bids across your whole account? QS in affect!
... How come...?
Suggested bid: $0.89--$1.46 USD
That was for 2 weeks old new account though... The bid price really increased a lot.
Suggested bid: $0.66--$1.34 USD
