Follow along - what I’ve done so far

I started my affiliate marketing journey about two weeks ago and I am following vortex’s guide which is very helpful. I have tested quite a few offers. The more offers (Mobidea) I’ve tested the more I convert which is not surprising. My latest offer that I tested got 9 conversions which I was happy with seeing as it it took me 3 offers to get 1 conversion. Still, using the whitlest calculator, it is telling me to kill every offer, so I am still awaiting to get to the stage where I have a campaign to start cutting placements.

The only problem/set back I have been having is that Voluum does not seem to be tracking some offers properly. I have been inputting everything correct so this is quite frustrating. Nonetheless, I know this journey is not going to be easy.

Hi there! You are not the only one struggling with tracking at the moment, mainly because Voluum is implementing some changes, which mean you'd need to take a different approach of postback setting with Mobidea.
Instead of setting tracking as pre-configured with Voluum on Mobidea's page, you should set it as Custom tracking (implementing the correct tokens in postback and offer's links)

Contact our support team to make sure you set the right tracking

Hope it helps!

How do I direct my landing page to my offer?

12-29-2017 07:38 AM #4 platinum (Veteran Member)

On your landing page you have to place the click link of your tracking platform. When a visitor lands on your lander through your campaign link, your tracker then takes care if the redirect to send the visitor to the right offer.

Many thanks Platinum,

I have another query.

I am using adplexity as a spy tool. When I try and click on the offer which the landing page is promoting it does not allow access.

Is there any software or tool that can enable me to access these offers?

Thanks in advance !

12-30-2017 06:33 PM #6 platinum (Veteran Member)

When I try and click on the offer which the landing page is promoting it does not allow access.
Usually affiliate networks enable fallback redirects on the offer links. In such cases when you are trying to open an offer link from another country you will be redirected to another offer targeting the country you are from.
To be able to access these offer pages you need to open links behind a proxy/vpn service. You can get a HMA subscription or similar even though their list of IPs are well known and don't always give the expected results.

12-30-2017 11:13 PM #7 elnathanj (Member)

Thank you for the suggestion. I have now subuscribed to HMA and now I can view the offer pages. However, when I want to access the AFF network of where the offer is coming from, I get this message "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access / on this server."

When viewing a landing page on Adplexity, once I find out what Affiliate network (Mobidea) the person is running the offer on, is there a way where I can find that particular offer on the network?

You can take a screen of the offer and write to affiliate network support team, they will find it for you

Something like this one - https://code.visualstudio.com/ ?

This may sound like a silly question, but for me to put the offer link in my landing page, do I have to edit the coding and what exactly is a click link of a tracking platform?

Hi,

Can someone recommend some affiliate networks that are good in sweepstake offers?

Thanks in advance

Take a look on these threads, it'll help you fix landers pretty quickly:

Check the list of networks in this thread, you can find more than networks

Thanks Platinum for linking to my posts! elnathanj - I believe they will answer most of your questions.

As for sweeps offers - most aff networks have them. If you ask your AMs on networks you're currently with, they'll be able to recommend some.

Regarding implementing tracking for mobidea and Voluum - I've updated my tutorial to reflect the latest changes at Mobidea and Voluum.

If you still experience problems please let me know and we'll do some troubleshooting.

Can someone please help me

Does anyone know where I can outsource someone to fix landing pages apart from Upwork and fiver. I can fix the basic landers but the more complicated ones I think will be easier to outsource

01-11-2018 10:30 AM #17 caurmen (Administrator)

There are loads of other places you could try - rentacoder, Reddit /r/forhire, onlinejobs.ph, etc.

In order to narrow them down - what aren't you getting from Fiverr or Upwork that you're looking for?

01-11-2018 10:54 AM #18 elnathanj (Member)

Thanks for your reply,

Upwork can get too costly. I have found recent success with Fiverr so I will be still using that

Between upwork, fiverr and the resources suggested by Caurmen, you should be able to find the help you're looking for.

Just in case you haven't seen it: I've posted a sample job post for a "landing page fixer-upper" at the end of this post that may help:

how do I set up tracking on advidi?
You'll find instructions here:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...pbystep-voluum

Advidi uses the CAKE software - so simply follow the instructions in the CAKE section of that post.

When I test an offer with a lander, I run at least $10 traffic. If the offfer does not bring at least 1 conversion, should I still test and cut placements or just end the campaign?

If you can cut low/no ctr placements from the beginning of your camp, will help you avoid budget wasters that take the opportunity out of a good placement.

For example. If a placement sends 200-300visits to your campaign without a single lander click, that’d be safe to be cut.

Also, take a look at the traffic distribution among placements. Check if any has eaten major part of the budget and cut it out.

If the offer doesn’t bring a single conversion even after cutting such low quality placements, it’s time to move on and test another one.

It would really depend on how good that lander is, and also what the offer payout is.

Never just "test" a single lander. You really need to make sure you're working with a good lander when using it to test offers - otherwise you could test a ton of offers without getting conversions just because the lander itself is mediocre.

It would also be a good idea to test multiple offers at a time. When you're testing several landers/offers at a time, your chances of hitting on a good one will increase. It's much easier to cut inferior landers/offers using stats calculators than trying to decide whether to cut a single lander/offer.

I'm writing the lesson on lander testing as we speak - it's the next lesson on the list:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ntro-and-Index

Aiming to get that done by tomorrow or the day after.

Also: It's always easier to give advice when looking at a full set of stats, than in response to a hypothetical question like this one. So if you have some stats to show, please do and we'll dissect them.

I’ve been browsing the forums and I’ve gathered that POP is good to learn AM but in the long run it will be better to stick with a different traffic source.

My question is at what stage will it be ideal to move from POP to a different traffic source such as FB or native?

Good question!

I'd say to look for the following indicators:

-You're not afraid of testing lots of offers and landers. Instead of holding your breath for every campaign to be profitable, you understand that maybe only 1-2 out of every 10 will be profitable.

-You're not afraid to spend money on testing, and yet know not to splurge on unpromising camps (i.e. not fall in love with a camp so much you can't say goodbye).

-You have an idea of WHY certain landers are working better than others. i.e. You have an idea of what it takes to convert visitors, know a variety of lander elements that are usually conducive to increasing CR, know consumer psychology and what people will respond to.

-You know how to use statistical tools to help you identify the best offer/lander out of a bunch.

-You're aware of the various ways you can optimize a campaign: e.g. including/excluding a traffic segment in the targeting options (and each traffic source has different targeting options), changing the bid and/or bidding mode, etc.

-You're familiar with how tracking works.

-You know how affiliate networks or affiliate programs work, how to track and monitor stats, how to communicate with AMs.

-And, most importantly: You KNOW affiliate marketing works and that there are profits to be made, because you've made your initial conversions, and hopefully also your first profits.

This is all transferable knowledge that can be applied to any traffic type. It may not sound like much, but when someone is just starting out, it's a lot to digest - which is why starting with an easy traffic type like pop still has merits, plus it's one of the cheapest traffic types. But really, if your faith in yourself and affiliate marketing is strong enough, and your budget is big enough, I would encourage you to jump directly into something other than pop.

Perhaps one of these days, we'll come out with a newbie tutorial for FB as well. This won't be a simple endeavor, because there are so many moving parts, and targeting options are unlimited (especially when it comes to audience interest/demographic targeting), plus there are unlimited verticals of offers that can be promoted. So this is something that will take time - I'll announce this on the forums if/when we have a more solid idea on ETA. In the meantime, we have Caurmen's Ecommerce Cookbook.

You mean like a spy tool for FB?

A lot of the best tools got shut down. The best of the ones still standing, that I know of, is bobliu's tool - but it's not cheap and I'm not sure they're accepting new signups:

Here's a relevant thread that lists more:
