How to hide your LP from affiliate network? and whould we?

Hi guys. i'm using prosper 202. Will affiliate network see my Landing Page url? And should we somehow try to hide it from the network and from advertiser?

Yes. Use the cloaking option. I believe that prosper202 something leaks the referrer, so you should check out a few cloakers out there that hide the referrer.

I forgot what the website was, but Chillyh20 had a link to it somewhere on the forum.

I thought prosper cloaked correctly? So does cpvlab right?

Pretty sure the prosper202 cloaking isn't perfect but does a decent job, I would be more worried about speed. If a network really wants to they will be able to track down where the traffic is coming from regardless of what you do, at least I would hope they have enough knowledge/experience to be able to do so. Fraudulent affiliates and people sending poor quality/unapproved traffic to advertisers are pro-actively tracked down.

Why not have your LP on one domain -> CTA link goes to tracking link domain -> affiliate URL? You could also have your LP loaded as https and your tracking domain as http so you lose referrers before you even redirect to the affiliate URL.

Cpvlab has a 100% cloak option. As it checks to make sure the link is clean before redirecting....

Bth cloaking isn't worth it.....unless your pushing volume......even then....just work with networks that aren't asshats and you won't have issues......

While we're on the subject of cloaking...I got flak from an advertiser who didn't like my ad on a direct link camp. How can they see this? Is the image coming through as the referrer when they use a tool like http headers?

Lol. Nope.

They probably saw the traffic source you were promoting on, and they started spying around and saw yours and compared it with affiliate id's.

That's my guess.

Depending on the merchant, a lot of them patrol traffic sources. The same scrapers you use for stuff they use to make sure the ads that are running are compliant. There's a lot of ways to see what/how something is running besides looking at a referrer.

sometimes [ahem] we have lots of typo domain traffic that i'm sure advertisers wouldn't approve
