Where to start?

I just signed up for STM and I have no idea were to start in affiliate marketing. I have a few niches that I want to attack but I don't know where to go from there.

Check the On boarding Zone. There you may find indexed information of the basics. In addition Vortex has already started publishing a revised up-to-date newbie guide that can make your things pretty easy for everyone

Along with the guides, I’d suggest reading all available case studies related to the traffic type and vertical you guys are planning to start out.

Yup, Vortex's guide is definitely a great place to start. Even if you don't stick with pops, there are plenty of skills you'll learn along the way which will help. Best not too read *too* much and to just get going, you'll learn a lot quicker that way. Plus her guide has plenty of links to threads for good reading. I'd also recommend posting a follow-along so you can receive guidance along your journey.

Otherwise, if you already have some AM experience or other potentially relevant background, let us know what it is and maybe there's a more suitable path to take. Good luck! Knowing where to start is a very common issue.

You may also find the General Getting Started Guide very useful. It's focused on explanations and works very well alongside Vortex's guide as an additional reference source.

You simply take your experience and send that quality PPC traffic to affiliate offers. I assume you are talking about sources like adwords, bing ... so you need to pick solid offers that are compliant with their rules. So I guess the first thing would be to name the sources you plan to work with.
