Interview with Clickadu

Hey, guys!

I personally know how it’s difficult to find a good ad network that works for you.

High quality traffic, reasonable rates, precise targeting, helpful support... Well, there are numerous choice factors. As you know I recommended some good sources which I work with. You can read in this topic.

I asked the guys working at Clickadu, one of the leading global popunder ad networks which I use for a long time some questions. I hope this info will be helpful.

NOTE: Me and STM does not promote any affiliate networks/sources.
Q: What are your best converting verticals and what are your top GEOs? Do they periodically change or stay relatively the same?
A: Clickadu is a definitely your source of traffic if you run ad campaigns on the following verticals: Apps, Tools, Games, Software, E-commerce, Mobile Subscriptions (1-click), Adult.

The Top GEOs change from time to time, as we are always focused on responding to advertising requests. Over the last 3 months we have seen the essential growth of the US, British and Indonesian traffic while China has shifted from the 3d place out of the first ten. So, by the end of June 2017 the TOP-10 was looking like this (in daily impressions):

• USA — 30M
• India — 15.6M
• Thailand — 10.4M
• France — 8M
• Great Britain — 6.9M
• Indonesia — 5.5M
• Brazil - 5.4M
• Germany — 4.8M
• Russia — 4.7M
• Vietnam — 3.8M

As far as you know, the volume is not necessarily related to conversions. For instance, in June the TOP-10 best-converting GEOs in descending order were India, Indonesia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Egypt, USA, Thailand, Pakistan, Philippines, Japan, Mexico, Malaysia.

Q: You have a self-serve platform and dedicated managers for your advertisers. How much does one have to spend to get a manager? What is the difference between the platforms? What are their pros and cons?
A: In fact, we do not have any official budget requirements to get managed though large-budget advertisers normally prefer a full-service management. Anyway, there is only a customer who decides upon the platform. Both platforms have their own advantages. For the managed advertisers there is almost 24/7 personal support via any convenient communication channel (Skype, Email, Messenger, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Your personal manager takes care of everything: rates optimization, campaign launch, management and optimization to ensure better conversions and smart budget spending. Also black and whitelists, which can be extended to maximum 1000 zones each, is no problem for you with a personal manager! Another obvious and really cool feature is that through your dedicated manager you can get traffic from a lot more premium placements.

Targeting at the self-serve and managed platforms is pretty much the same, however the managed platform differs by IP and city targeting options. If you have smartlink offers, you also go through the managed platform.

At the same time a lot of our advertisers enjoy our user-friendly self-serve platform equipped with advanced targeting, real-time statistics, multiple payment methods from wire and e-wallets to credit cards, tracking opportunities, support and API integration.

Q: You, guys, have for years been experts in popunder advertising. Why do you work with onclick formats mainly? What other ad formats are already in use or pending?
A: Right, we have always loved effective formats like popunders, pop-ups, tabunders and tab-ups. We strongly believe that pops rock and are still very popular not only with entertainment and adult offers but also mainstream (binary, tools, e-commerce, health and beauty, etc.).
It’s not a secret that pop-under advertising is going through a really tough time. Recently, Google has announced a huge plans for choking all the aggressive advertising formats. So, we decided not to dwell long upon our basic advertising formats. For now, we’re testing several popular banner sizes. We’d like to grow up our inventory first before bringing it to our advertising platform. They should become available in a month and a half.

Besides, we’re developing a few advertising formats, we keep it a secret till it's ready. Sounds curious? Stay with us to be updated.

Q: What do your rates depend on?
A: CPM rates depend on geo, platform, competition, and many other targeting options. In order to check CPM rates for specific targeting you can sign up with the self-serve platform and make a free draft of your campaign. Our traffic estimator will show you the traffic available in correlation with CPM rates for the targeting chosen.

Q: As you know many advertisers use low/medium/high bid. What can you recommend us to use, working with you?
A: The ability to set different bids separately for each zone is a nice feature and we have already scheduled its development but it’s not our priority for the next few months.

We advise you to start with a lower bid and to increase gradually. Form 2-3 separate lists with top converting zones and set a different bid for them.
You can also use a top-bid strategy with whitelists and hot offers.

As for the specific GEOs and carriers here, the bidding rules differ widely. Our managers are always ready to assist you in choosing the most suitable bid for the precise targeting.
Still, there is no established optimal starting bid, but you’re able to start from $0.4 or less depending of the GEO.

Q: What technological solutions do you offer your advertisers?
A: Well, you already know about our self-serve platform where you can work on CPM and CPA basis. Both models show conversions, and sometimes it can be even cheaper to advertise on CPM than on CPA, but it depends. We have a totally auto-optimized algorithm powered by an advanced learning mechanism allowing to automatically match your CPA offers to 100% targeted users, helping you reach more relevant audience. Our exhaustive FAQ on the website will be of help to all the interested.

Clickadu works with API which helps our advertisers work remotely with our platform: create, launch, and stop campaigns; change a bid, a link or targeting settings. Programmatic advertising via RTB is also possible.

Q: You have recently introduced IP capping. How does it work and how does it help?
A: Not a secret that visitors may regularly clean cookies. For this reason Clickadu decided to add IP Capping which may be used both at the self-serve and managed platforms. IP Capping limits the number of times your ads are displayed to the same person with the same IP-address on a publisher's website. When a website visitor sees the ad for the first time, the ad server receives the info about the individual IP. If you set IP Capping to be 3:24, it means one visitor will see your ad only 3 times per day.

We recommend setting both Frequency and IP Capping for your campaigns in order to optimize your budget and get more unique hits.

Q: What about conversion tracking in your system?
A: We have our own tracking optimization system and are able to work via s2s. Our self-serve advertisers can use two tokens to track the data through their own tracking systems: {zoneid} - ID of the ad zone where the ad is displayed, and ${SUBID} - Unique ID for tracking conversions. For the managed advertisers the pack is bigger: in addition to the above-mentioned they have {timestamp}, {ymid}, {publisher}, {subpublisher}, {amount}, {conversion_type}.
In our FAQ you can get step-by-step guides of integration with a number of leading tracking systems like Voluum, Adsbridge, ClickBakers, Bemob, etc.

Q: We need a good traffic estimator. When you, guys, do that?
A: Recently, we had faced an anomaly when our Inventory Planner showed not an exact image, this issue was fixed but we have detected other bugs.
So, we have started refactoring and now we’re expecting to wheel out the updated inventory planner version in the next coming weeks.

Q: What about retargeting? Are you planning to do that?
A: Some of our partners have already got a chance to test the retargeting features. We do it with a pixel tracking and with our huge inventory they are able to bring back to their services the most desired users. If you are
All you need is to contact us and we’ll discuss the details of launching the retargeting campaigns.

Q: And finally...do you have any special promo code for STM readers who may want to join your network?
A: Sure! If you love STM forum like we do, come over and use a 10% joining bonus code. Just put LOVESTM in a bonus code field while signing up with Clickadu! You will get the extra money to buy more traffic and increase your ROI!
