Best hours to run campaign

What is the best hours to run/test campaign?

04-19-2017 02:54 PM #2 Mobidea (Veteran Member)

Hi!

This is a very broad question, could you please provide us with more details?
It really depends on the vertical you work with and the GEO, since for different segments users' behavior is different.
In reality you can never guess which hours are the most profitable, this information is usually obtained with tests. Analyzing your campaign statistics you will be able to see the hours that it is better to focus on.

Hello!

As Mobidea said in really depends on many parameters. You have to run your own campaign for at least 3 days, check the stat and make an opinion what hours work best for me. But there are no prepared hours.

P.S. I use hour-targeting only in 2% cases. Most of my camps are working without that.

Thank you very much for quick answers. Now I am working with adult traffic and Thailand.
So, as I understand, I dont need to pay much attention to day targetting when I trying to find profitable campaign.

I am participate Success-Challenge and I am doing tests to find profitable campaign without landing page. Is it right approach or I need to start using landing pages?

What type of traffic do you run? If it's POP, TH Adult I recommend to use LPs.

Yes, I run only pop traffic.
So, use landing pages or not it depends on what GEO and vertical I choose? OMG

It's more about offers than GEOs, there are only a few offer types that can actually work without a landing page - PIN submit offers for example, but even in this case, LPs can improve performance. So, if you are serious about AM, definitely start utilizing LPs as soon as possible.

As for the original question : evening "prime time hours" are usually performing the best with adult offers, let's say 8 pm - 2 am, some people target 6 pm - 6 am ... but your own testing should give you the answer, I am not a big fan of dayparting, pretty much all my campaigns are running 24/7 - if they make a loss during certain hours, then so be it ... it's not the same everyday, so hours that are poor on one day, can work well on the next one. You need a lot of data to see clear trends and to be able to cut certain hours with certainty.

Thank you. Today I have already set up Cloudfront, so tomorrow I am going to start testing LPs.
What is the average CTR for good LP on pop traffic?

04-19-2017 07:55 PM #11 mrbraun (Moderator)

There are no average CTR. It depends on: geo, vertical, source. And, of course, on your LP. The best way - to test.

The longest you will run the test, the better data you gather.

As short windows when you open the floodgates may show or may not show anything.

Regarding time targeting in general - it makes sense in some verticals, but in mobile you can run 24/7 (if the offer doesn't have other requirements) and be profitable.

Thank you for your advices.
I have tested 5 LPs with 1 offer and recieved bad results. Offer has payout 0.5$, so I spend 10xpayout for each LP(column "Cost" is not correct). I need to change all 5 LPs or I can left LP №5, because It has good CTR, as I think or I need to change offer?

In this case you need to add more offers. Is it possible for you to find more?

Thank you, yes I have more offers and I have already launched campaign with 3LPs and 6 new offers. There will be 18 variants LP+Offfer with average payout 0.5$, 90$ for test will be enough?

No. Just set "average payout"*10. But if you have a small payout I recommend to set "average payout"*30
