How to use Voluum and Beyond Hosting?
So i joined this community last night in hopes of getting into AM, but i've been looking through the forum on newbie tips and even the step-by-step guide on what i need to get started and how to get started. But beyond the knowledge of "you need a server, beyond hosting is a good alternative" and "Voluum is great for this and that" i still have no clue on how i actually use these tools :P I bought a subscription on both of them but so far they're only costing me money xD
I know very well i'm just not understanding something correctly wich is why i am asking here. Can someone please explain how i use these 2 websites to my advantage?

Voluum is a tracker, beyondhosting is a hosting company.
1. Check this thread to understand what tracking is about : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-Read-This-Now
2. As for hosting, you need it to host your landing pages or other promotional tools.
Do you understand the basic concept of setting up campaigns? I don't want to go into details before I know what's your experience level, so give us more details please.
Matej.

Welcome to STM, you're in very good hands here!
You should also choose what kind of traffic you're willing to work on (fb ads, popup, dsp, native...etc), that's like the first step you should think of before buying any tools.
Good luck!

POF is not as popular as it used to be, they don't even take new advertisers now, so you'd have to buy an account from someone. I'd look elsewhere.
Since you say you have pretty much 0 knowledge, spend some time in our newbie zone and read as much as you can :

Actually reading is the best option you have to start with, besides, if you you're curious on how other experienced guys are running their campaigns, you might get a free trial on some spy tool to see how things work, you may learn good tips from spying

You need to educate yourself, there is no way around this
You know that you need hosting, but you don't know how to use it ... this is like the most basic fundamental knowledge you gotta master. Anything that you are able to see on the internet has to be hosted somewhere and that's what companies like beyondhosting are doing - they are giving you "space" on their servers, so you can upload your sites/pages there for everyone else to see them. Do you understand how the basic infrastructure of the internet works?
Voluum is a tracker, so an application that will record the activities of the surfer as soon as he clicks on an ad and collect all kinds of info about them. It will show you where the surfer comes from, what device and connection type they are using ... you can also use it to track what banner the click came from, what LP they clicked on and what offer they converted on...
Before you can actually start doing anything in AM, you need to master the fundamentals and understand how traffic flows work

I do feel like im digging myself a deeper and deeper grave here
I know how the basic infrastructure works, but i don't know how to work it myself sort of. I am reading a ton of forum posts here tho.
I also know how Voluum works and how it tracks, but not the actual process of setting it up to work so i can see how the tracking works xD I was asking here to maybe get some quicktips on getting started. But i will continue readon more and more forum posts every single day.
The only thing i feel i'm really missing now is everyone keeps telling me to use a spy tool. And i understand i need to read more posts about how this works.
I really do feel like a complete dumbass so far tho :P BUT i know it's the best way to learn!
Thank you for all the help so far, sorry for making it seem like i wants shortcuts

Don't feel sorry for anything, we all started somewhere
The problem is, I don't know where to start with the advice
Let's take it in steps, so pick one thing and ask about it and I will explain to you.
Maybe, tell me what you already understand and let's move from there?

Alright. So i signed up with Beyond Hosting and Voluum. And i've managed to get the starter vps setup, and i have a domain rented. What do i do with these? :P
Do i need to make a website to help me apply for traffic sites and affiliate networks?
EDIT:
I probably need to get into an AN before i can get startet with anything?
Or do i need to use a spy tool or two to figure out how to move forward?

Hey Blurrp,
I am a newbie as well. They say mobile pops and display are the place to start. It all depends on your budget.
- You need to sign up to a few Affiliate Networks (this is where you get the offers)
- You need one good spy tool (Adplexity, WRW, Advault etc....) find the discount code $149 per month for Adplexity ( this is where you find what offers/creatives are working) ** also ask your affiliate manager from the networks to let you know whats working**
- You need to sign up to the popular traffic sources where you buy the ad space (PopAds, FB, Propeller, RevContent etc....)
- You already have Beyond Hosting (hosting) which is where you will upload your landing pages (landing pages/landers - they sell the offer) * you will need a CDN (makes your creative load faster. (speed=money)make sure they set it up for you**
- You already have Voluum (tracker) which will track all of traffic and give you data needed to optimize and get to profitability
The search tool is your friend here
**** make a quick website to add credibility to yourself when dealing and signing up to these networks and traffic sources**** A quick WordPress site will do the trick. just google to find inspiration.

I think the standstill i'm at right now seems to be getting into the AN. I've applied for 4-5 so far but only 1 has answered with additional info (AffiliaXe) so im crossing my fingers xD

Hello again,
dankmeme already summed it up pretty nicely, just let me add a few things.
- focus on POPs for now guys, display is harder, unless you want to focus on adult where banners rule.
- CDN helps but it's not a total must, but with POPs ... yeah, its definitely gonna help a bit.
- as for networks, there are some that are more interested into working with newbies over others, for example : affiliaxe, adsimilis, addiliate or mobile ones like Mobidea, kimia, glize ...

CDN is something i can get with beyond hosting right? Do i ask them to set it up or do i do it myself?
(I'm gonna hop onto it now to see if i figure it out myself)

I have no experience with the CDN from beyond to be honest. I'm personally looking rackspace cloud files, people here on STM also like amazon s3, here is a guide for you :

I figured it out xD It was quite easy.
It seems i have been approved for atleast one AN so far.
Now i need to look up tutorials on researching and setting up a new campaign. I was hoping to get into the Arbitrage with Afflow first tho, but i don't know if i'm bringing or selling traffic :P

In case you want to work with an affiliate network or a monetization platform like afflow, you're the one who is bringing traffic that you technically want to sell them.
When working with traffic networks, you're the one who want's to buy the traffic.

So I sign up to zeropark as an advertiser and not a publisher then? My application for publisher just got rejected because I said I wanted to buy traffic. I referred to the arbitrage tutorial by vortex when signing up and they didn't understand if I wanted to buy or sell traffic.

Hi @blurrp,
Traditionally, those who want to "buy" traffic on networks, as matuloo says, are considered "advertisers". This may be why zeropark directly rejected the application for publisher. Though an AM should have contacted you to review your situation and guide you.
About CDNs, there are many variables to consider that lead to generating more sales and consequently more revenue: the speed with which this content is served to the end-user is a defining key point. To provide this immediacy tu users, ideally your network will have integrated with one of the top CDN companies, to provide faster content delivery.
(Just to go into a little detail in case anyone else stumbles on this thread, a CDN is a content delivery network that owns pops (points of presence) worldwide, these in turn deliver content based on the geo location of the user. A CDN partner should have worldwide coverage and strategically positioned pops that lead to a swift delivery of images and products.)
Hope this helps some
