Best traffic source + aff network for direct linking for newbies
Hi guys. I'm just getting started with affiliate marketing. I have 3 years of background doing fb ads arbitrage and some native advertising.
I just started running some traffic on Exoclick with Mobidea, but I'm not that comfortable doing adult campaigns, which are the main focus of this combination.
So I'd like to know what's the best option to getting started, with the following requirements:
-direct linkink: would like to run offers like this in the beginning to get used to the optimization process before jumping to landers. I've read that gaming and pin submits are the best suitable, and on mobile
-would like cheap offers, in the 0.50-2 range, since my budget is $50 per day
With that in mind, i would need a source of traffic relatively cheap in order to buy more data to get used to this process, thus the cheap offer question.
Any suggestions?

Adult is actually a pretty good choice for this, but since you're not comfortable with it, let's take a look at something else.
I would recommend to take a close look at Amy's tutorial, it has several parts, the 1st one is here : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...bitrage-Part-1
She used Zeropark as the source, so you might want to start there too.

Thanks for the advice Matuloo, but I can't access that thread, is the link correct?
I get the following message, are there different levels of membership or is it an error?

Thanks matuloo for referencing that thread!
Another great method on Afflow Arbitrage is MyPayne's method - it's actually the easier one to get started with:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...w-and-Zeropark
As for suitable traffic source for direct-linking offers: Basically any pop source would be worth a test. If you want to test for cheap, consider using MrPayne's method of setting a really low bid. His approach was applied to afflow, but you can apply the same approach to testing individual offers as well. Basically just bid really low and test a ton of offers, and only spend x-times payout on testing each offer. Identify the best offers, then test bids for them and do further optimization (cut OS and placements etc. etc.)
Adult offers can actually convert well when direct-linked, but not just any type of adult offer. Ask your AMs for offers that already have pre-landers built-into them. Kisscoder, one of the TAs of our 6WAMC course, has been teaching this method with success.
The key to succeeding with direct-linking is to 1)keep test budget low and 2)go through a ton of offers. Instead of testing each offer thoroughly, only spend a little bit of money on each and cherry-pick the ones that look like winners from the very beginning - then optimize and scale.
Also worth mentioning: You can do similar testing on mDSPs by using generic banners - which would be the equivalent of turning mobile display traffic into pop traffic.

Thanks matuloo and vortex for the suggestions. Will definetely take a look at that guide, since I love stats analysis and optimization but not much about banners and landers

vortex, that sounds like a good tip. I'm currently testing just an adult offer with 4 banners, direct linking. Spent 40 dollars and only got $2.40 back (3 conversions). Don't have much data yet, but looks it's going to be tough to convert without using a lander.
I do want to use landers eventually, but would like to go step by step first trying to master banners first.
Regarding landing pages, can anyone recommend a good tutorial to create landers for mobile that convert? Don't mean the technical aspects, but what bits should someone use to optimize conversions. If it's specific for adult and 3G would be even better.

The most efficient way to acquire landers, would be to download them from a spy tool like Adplexity. You can get it at a discount here:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...e-STM-Discount
Several reasons why ripping may be the better approach:
1)It requires less time and money than to come up with your own.
2)Unless you know how to hide your landers from spy tools, your landers will end up getting ripped by other people anyways.
3)The common landers you see in spy tools are tried and tested by many people already, so they will work to a large extent, whereas if you come up with your own, you'd have no idea whether they'd convert or not. So at LEAST use ripped landers to establish a benchmark before testing variations or original landers.
You'd still need to know SOME coding in order to fix up ripped landers, an intro course to html, css, javascript and jquery may be just the thing. This post may also help:

Have fun!

No problem with the technical stuff since I've been a web developer for the past 15 years.
I'm already subscribed to adplexity, but wasn't able to find landers for adult, I guess I need to learn how to properly use the tool. Been busy learning the rest of the pieces of the AM puzzle so far!

For adult you need this:

Even if you're good at programming landers, it would still be a good idea to run ripped landers first to establish a benchmark. Points 2) and 3) in my previous post will still apply.

I arree with you. Probably will rip some and try some variations with my own tweaks.
