Did I Get The Wrong Forum/Course Or Am I Looking In The Wrong Places?
Wanted to learn about AM in this area.
However, I know 0 about AM... like nothing at all. Was looking for a step by step guide in this area of it but can't seem to find one.
They more focus on ads which, yes i understand there are step by step guides for that but I can't seem to find too much info on how to get a website running to display that ad/ what that entails/needs. ect..

This forum is an excellent place to get started and there are lots of guides and tutorials.
Some of the content is not the most organized or in a systematic approach like you'd find in a textbook or manual.. I recommend that you take a week or two and read every single post and thread on here, absorb it all and you will come out the other end well equipped.
Alternatively, consider the Affiliate Mastery Classes that STM puts on a few times per year.

Folks have suggested most of the resources I'd already suggest, so I'll just add one more thing:
If, having looked at those, you're still confused, please do ask questions on this thread or elsewhere. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Tell us what you're confused by - even if it's "I still don't really get it - what's affiliate marketing?" - and we'll not rest until we've given you the info you need.
If you are completely new to the industry, you made a smart move by joining the forum. Thats however just step 1. You'd need to invest at least 50 hours in plowing and reading through all the value that has been written in the thousands of posts here. Thats a lot of time, but its a very valuable investment and will save you from many costly mistakes further down the road.
Most of all, be persistent. 99.9% sure you are going to be losing money on your first campaigns - dont see it as losing money, look at it as learning the ropes. Use tracking! Gather data, insights and network with other affiliates and AMs at networks. Build up your knowlegde and keep on A/B testing offers and angles. If you are persistent, don't mind to lose money and have a quantitative and analytical approach to AM you'll be succesful.
Making money - lots of money - is never easy and will never be easy. Otherwise the whole world would be rich. Its going to be hard but not impossible.
Success is in the details, so even the smallest optimization of your campaigns can lead to an increase in CTR, CR, eCPM and other metrics. It all trickles down to your bottom line.
