Back To Basic - US Sweeps on FB
Struggling as a "newbie" becoming profitable? Let's take it to the basics then!
Where it's quite normal and usual to avoid starting at a Tier-1 country as a newbie, especially not the US, here is a "simple" guide to reach 100% ROI, without using any software, platforms, cloaking, spy tools or what so ever. All ya need is some budget to invest on Facebook! And ofcourse a Facebook account which is ready to enter the battle!
Campaign details:
Geo: US
Campaign: Sweepstake - Supermarket X (there are dozens, let's take Publix as example)
Traffic source: Facebook
Payout: 2 dollar
Tracking: Hasoffers dashboard of the network/advertiser
Targeting setup:
- United States
- Targeting - women, 35+ who liked Publix
- Mobile newsfeed only
- Automatic bidding
Ad setup:
- Find images of Publix stores, Publix bags, Publix cart's etc etc. Don't use a logo only, but find some nice HQ images.
- Create a FB page, which makes it look like you are somehow affiliated with Publix. How aggressive you want to go is up to you, from "Publix Stores" to "Pub Stores". The more convincing, the better the CTR and CR will be eventually. But beware of copyright infringement and that kind of stuff. Don't harm the brand at least, keep it positive!
- Use a simple header as; Ladies, Attention! We Might Have A Shopping Treat For You! #giftcard
- Use a simple call to action underneath the image like; Click Here & Proceed
*always let the advertiser check if the text you are using is allowed
- Ofcourse use the visible link/link description part for trustworthy text, call to actions, user reviews etc etc
You might be able to direct link (if the lander contains some questions before submit page) or create a simple 4-question prelander yourself.
With this setup, (my first steps in the US market too!) I got these results;

My ads reach a nice average of 0,12 euro ct. Not amazing but decent for a first try!
Good luck!

Sweeps nowadays are banned from Facebook. In my experience (and I have many clients running sweeps) these is black hat.
You can turn it "grey" if are are creative with the fan page name and the ad text itself. But that "creativity" that will eventually turn the ad less aggressive also will turn down your CR & CTR.
@stickupkid The account you are using for these ad is a new account or eventually have ad spend? Let me know wich is the lifetime ad spend that the account gives you running these type of campaigns inside Facebook.

I find Blackhat a name with real negative associations. And sweeps are quite harmless imho, but you are definitely right! This account is warmed up with a xxx.xxx spend last years.
My point with this post is, with only little budget, a Facebook account (or more ofcourse) and a very simple angle it's doable to be profitable very quickly, even in a Tier 1 country. No investment or fancy tools are needed. I haven't touched third party software, tools or whatever for this account....

So you link to your has offers link and not to the page you just created? Wouldn't it get disapproved by the fb team because it will be clear that link is not associated with the store sweepstake you are trying to promote?

Yeah. OP says you can do it without cloaking. So you're basically risking a ban?

I am just putting in direct affiliate link, or, when the domain is already flagged a simple questionnaire which is hosted on a new domain of myself

Website traffic / link clicks indeed. If you are able to put a pixel on advertisers page, definitely go for conversion optimizing ofcourse

Yes;
- duplicate ad sets
- test, run, launch much much much more images simultaneously
- raise budget per ad set, between 50%-100% a day

Sweep is a contest in general, could be an e-mail submit, could be a pin submit, could be a zip submit etc etc

Thanks, very useful!
Just a question, how can I use the HasOffer dashboard to track the conversion? Do you need to set it in some way?

I used the advertisers platform, in this case HasOffers. It wasn’t my tracking software. If you have a Hasoffers account you can put advertisers links as a campaign in yours and place the pixel at advertisers page!
*since more and more questions appear if this method still works, yes it does I can confirm!

Sorry, I did not explain well.
How can I track with HasOffers dashboard which FB adset is converting?
On Affiliaxe they don't let you put your pixel on this kind of offers. Do you know some network who give this possibility for Sweep offers?
Many thank!

You can add sub_ids or other parameters to see from which ads the conversions come. To be honest I never use a pixel or sub_ids to see where my conversions come from. I aim for the lowest cpc and squeeze it till the last penny! Affiliaxe can setup the sub_or other parameters with you I assume.

And how do you know if the people who click more are really those who convert at the end of the day?

I highly recommend to use pixels and/or sub_ids to track where the conversion come from. I am lazy and stubborn and just dont think all the tools are needed to make good money.
With the sub_ids you track from click to sale, so you are able to see which ad works best, conversion wise. Doesn't mean the ad is profitable tho', if click price is higher than the others.

Hello,
You write in your topic - https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...s-your-account that FB not allowed sweep ads.
In this topic - that you are not using cloacking and your ads link directly to offer, without any software, cloaks etc.
Please explain how do you run such sweeps without banned yet.

Hello everyone
I tried to promote sweeps offers on Facebook but it continues to create problems.
It approves my campaign, let them work for some hours and then it stopped it.
The status is still active but no traffic and I can't duplicate it.
The error message is: "Your campaign couldn't been approved because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive"
My ads have not been reported though.
Other times they say that I'm violating something copyrighted.
I don't know what to do.
My funnel is:
FB ADS ---> BRIDGE PAGE ---> OFFER PAGE
- My copy is not aggressive at all
- My bridge page is a very simple click through page.
- My track domain was not flagged until now and I use Adsbridge.
Yes the account is new but why they checked my campaign for 2 days and then they approved it?
Why now is not ok anymore?
Could be fault of that specific offer or maybe is Adsbridge's fault?
When I try to run this offer without using Adsbridge it works without problems, but as you can understand I need a tracker.
Now my domain is flagged for sure, I can't promote nothing with that one.
Something to suggest to me?
Thanks,
Marco

Okay thanks that's all I wanted to know... If the same tactic could be used in '22 with FB updated ad policies.
