Overall Campaign quality (backend for advertiser)

Would love to hear your thoughts on what it take to send good quality for back-end. (gaming offers)

Things I know so far

- Send 18+ traffic
-in the ad copy, explain what the user can expect by playing the game (e.g. Play blank and kill enemies, play now!)

I've ran alot of traffic with ads like "#1 game for BLANK fans!", and got feedback that the back-end quality was horrible.

What can one do to increase overall campaign quality without lowering the CTR too much?

don't use the word "FREE" :-) and don't make fails claims..but gaming offers are tough..if you don't know some webmasters that offer cheap placements etc...especially on social you can't sell them with the highest quality......so i always try to be as deceptive as possible without hurting the quality.. :-) but it really depends on the offer/traffic source...i was the #1-3 affiliate on a couple gaming offers network wise so if you give us some more details i can give you better advice ;-)

does Back-end quality get influenced by the Creative or by the targeted "interest"?

What are your thoughts?

also, can you give some details on how you are Deceptive without hurting the quality? would love to hear your ideas.

As deceptiveness/risque ads do better in terms of Higher CTR's.

well one of the first things I would suggest is ask your network what works for the advertiser.....I have been told a wide variety of things.....some want 25+, some want women....some say 14-25....it just depends on the game and what works or what they are trying to do.....saying that 18+ is the standard is def not the case

once you know the demo....try to think like someone who would play that game and their general interests....people who play RPG's like RPG's.....people who play FPS like FPS.....

don't over think it to much.......

its the image most of the time thats the issue....too aggressive with that....and people that wouldn't otherwise signup do...realize the game isn't what they thought it was gonna be....never play again.....

why most games need creative approval on fb these days....

Bacon, so would you say "make sure to have images that closely relate to the game only?"

ya most games on fb require you use in-game images....and trust me on this when I tell you that you will get found if you break this rule.....and you generally wont like the outcome....

most game advertisers watch FB like a hawk.....I am not saying its impossible....I am just saying be prepared for the day you get caught.....

that said....I will happily take the in game images and tweek them all to hell...."make them glow", mash shit up...etc....most cases that works well......

Make sure you dont mention other game names either like farmville. Zynga will send you a C&D!

ya most games now prohibit mentioning any other games in your ad copy.....best way around that is just to call out the type rpg, fps...etc...

To add to that I would say that targeting other gamers as opposed to more general traffic usually backs out better for the advertiser. In the end the advertiser needs to monetize the user. Usually this means an in game purchase or actual game purchase so depending on the game only really serious gamers or people with money (think women over 30) will back out.
