My Gift Back To The Forums For Facebook!

Here's the last campaign I ran on facebook for a while before I got banned again. It's obviously against the terms but this just goes out to show everyone how easy it can be to make a campaign work on FB.

Campaign was running big for about a week and made over 100% ROI. This is just my gift back to the forums for allowing me to achieve that success! I hope you guys can take this and spin it into something legit.

The reason why it worked in my eyes, is cause of the interests I targeted. Then I made the ad directly relate to the targeted audience. I also used a well known image.

Best of all, this campaign was 100% Original!

Good stuff James. You got banned because this was a co-reg path right?

Would it have been possible for you to collect the emails yourself, using Aweber or similar (in a way that Facebook does allow. Is this possible?), and then email them the gift card offer through Aweber instead?

Is that an email submit offer?

Could possible do it that way. It was an email submit and later switched it to a coreg path and just got the mobile number. The options are endless with this campaign. I just hit the tip of the iceberg.

To anyone who was on the coreg webinar this is an example of how you could use coreg.

With coreg and FB this gets you around a 1.00 RPU. All you do is take the offer page from the email submit and change out the part where it says email and collect the mobile number and it works very well

awesome stuff thanks for the share......

about the banning.....were you cloaking this to get it approved or just bait and switching?

Cloaking. They didn't break the cloaker, I keep on getting the account disabled when I log in, but no email its weird.

I'm curious... What page did you direct the FB ad reviewer to? What was the offer that the FB ad reviewer thought people clicking on this ad would see?

09-15-2011 06:53 PM #14 jroes57 (Member)

My cloaker would redirect the traffic that wasn't supposed to go to the offer to the site redlobster.com and the other traffic would go to an email submit. Quite simple actually.

You mind sharing what cloak you use? I am about to start testing WP engine link and AffiliatePlex, and am looking for others to test as well. Also, how do you know they didn't break the cloaker?

09-15-2011 07:05 PM #16 jroes57 (Member)

Not sharing the cloaker, its custom built. They didn't break cause I can see every click that comes through its recorded.

just for the record this isn't always the case....FB is getting very clever about finding you....most cases you may not even know it.....they give no reason.....you are just gone....

custom coded or not....makes no diff....nothing is static....

just a word to the wise.....just because you have done something for 3months or even 6 doesn't mean it works....just means you may have been lucky...or have not raised enough flags yet.....

cloaking is a system...its not just a simple script....

Yep, that's what I'd say happened, they prob just banned you on suspicion which they do all the time.
This is why i'm playing around and trying to move away from FB! It was a challenge 6 months ago, now it's just chaotic

Thanks for the campaign tips though!

fyi, cloaking isn't a good idea when you have a ctr that high. its just a matter of time until you get a manual review. thanks for the example campaign!

Thanks, for all of those who responded. You confirmed several things I had already assumed, but wasn't sure of..
