Payout Bump, CR Dump (10)

Payout Bump, CR Dump

Have you guys experienced that networks sometimes give you a bump, but in the end your ROI doesn't improve because CVR goes down at the same time? I know correlation does not equal causation, but it does at least somewhat verify my gut feeling from previous campaigns where similar patterns were observed.

Yes, some networks "bump" your front payout but scrub you to get you down. EPC is what matters in this game.

Happened to me too.

Some networks can even shave clicks so epc still looks good.

I trust only my P202 install and EPC is where it's at.

100%.

If this happens to you, BITCH ABOUT IT. Seriously. I had this happen to me recently with an advertiser. They wanted the network to create a separate link for me for the bump and I was getting like 10c epcs instead of 50+ on the other link.

After all the trouble of switching out all my links and negotiating the bump (which they came to ME with, I wasn't even asking for an additional bump!), I'm getting 1/4 the EPC? I don't think so. I told them I don't give a damn if the payout is $1 or $100, if the EPC sucks I lose money.

Bitched about it until they deided to just retroactively apply the difference at the end of the month and now my EPC's are where they should be and I'm making an extra buck per lead.

Haha. I've been on both sides of this. As an affiliate, where a "top" network gave me a bump on several offers and they always performed worse. As an advertiser, where we gave a bump on a separate tracking URL, the dude tested it for 1 hour and then claimed it wasn't converting as well. And it was the same exact setup, no shadiness or anything. It was technically IMPOSSIBLE for it not to have a higher EPC in the long run, if he didn't get scared after 1 hour.

Yeah that can happen as well. Hell, there are people write off AM altogether after not making money lol.

In my case I split test it for 2 days and lost money to prove a point to my AM. The advertiser claimed it's the exact same link but it is NOT and I can tell just by following the redirects.

This has happened to me recently. Actually it seems like the advertiser is scrubbing the shit out of the leads on every network I'm running it with. Is this possible?

Yesterday my EPCs were double of what todays EPCs are. And last Wednesday my EPCs were even higher than yesterdays.

I'm kinda losing my mind. I've rotated the same exact offer with 3 networks and they're all performing at almost half of what they used to. Any suggestions? Should I even bring it up to my AM and ask if they are scrubbing?
